The lyrics of Skasmopolitan's "About You" talks about two different perspectives of a love story that ended before it even started. The first perspective is from the guy's point of view. He has been going to the girl's band shows, watching her every time, and sending her emails daily. He claims that he is the greatest fan and will do whatever it takes to win her heart, even if the girl has never responded to his emails. On the other hand, the girl, Allison, tells a different story. She thinks that the guy is being crazy, as he never gets the hint that she is not interested. She even deletes his mails without reading them. Allison says that he is not even cool, and after the show is over, he goes back to his high school.
The chorus of the song shows the conflicting emotions of the two characters. The guy is wondering what he is going to do about his love for Allison, while Allison is thinking about what she will do with the guy who never leaves her alone. The final part of the song is from the guy's point of view, where he realizes that Allison is not interested, and the feeling is mutual. Hence, he decides to move on and not let her haunt his dreams anymore.
Overall, the lyrics of "About You" reveals the complex emotions involved in unrequited love. While the guy thinks that he is the greatest fan and deeply in love with Allison, she never even notices him, and he fails to understand that obsession is not the same as love.
