Believe Me
Skrux Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This house is haunted
I hear sounds
They only happen when
You're not around
The pressure
When you're gone
They don't
Believe me... believe me
They always have
Such a way with words
Through tragedy
I feel this world
They always have
Such a way with words
Through tragedy
I feel this world
The pressure
When you're gone
They don't
Believe me... believe me
*Instrumental*
This house is haunted
I hear sounds
They ony happen when
You're not around
The pressure
When you're gone
They don't
Believe me... believe me
They always have
Such a way with words
Through tragedy
I feel this world
*Instrumental*
The pressure
When you're gone

They don't
Believe me... believe me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Skrux's song "Believe Me" describe the experience of feeling haunted in a house when someone is not present. The opening lines, "This house is haunted, I hear sounds, they only happen when you're not around," suggest that the singer of the song perceives eerie and unexplained occurrences in the house, but only when the person they are addressing is absent.

The phrase "The pressure when you're gone, they don't believe me" implies that the singer feels isolated and disbelieved by others when they try to share their experiences of the haunting. This inability to convince others of the reality of what they are going through heightens the singer's sense of loneliness and frustration.

The repeated lines, "They always have such a way with words, through tragedy, I feel this world" suggest that the haunting experiences are not limited to just physical occurrences in the house. There is a deeper emotional and psychological weight associated with these events. The haunting affects the way the singer perceives the world and their own place within it.

The instrumental breaks in the song further emphasize the emotions being conveyed. These moments of silence depict the emptiness and absence that the singer feels when the person they are addressing is gone. It reinforces the idea that their experiences are unique to those moments, adding to the sense of isolation they feel.

Overall, "Believe Me" explores themes of feeling haunted, both physically and emotionally, and the frustration of not being believed or understood by others. It delves into the impact of these experiences on the singer's perception of the world and their sense of self.

This is an old video.
But I have a connection to it.
5 or 6 years ago, I heard this song in an MLP Ghost Animation, with this song in it. I instantly loved this song. But it would always make me cry. Either way, whenever I had my iPad with me, and would go to that video and watch the entire thing.
But then I stopped listening.
I had been getting bullied a lot in school, and stopped going on the internet that much.
I nearly forgot about this song.
But a year after, I heard the song in my mind again. And I could remember the tune, so I set out to find it.
For about 5 years, I searched and searched.
I almost gave up.
But,
One day in August of 2019, I realized that videos had descriptions, and I went back to that video and found it.
And there it was.
The link to the song.
So I clicked the link, and listened.
And with relief, I started to cry.
I was happy.
(I know this sounds dramatic, but honestly, I really wanted to describe my feelings for this song, and my connection to it. Let’s just say, I can get emotional and attached.)

Kind of ironic you found this in August 2019; I forgot about this and rediscovered it May of the same year, thanks to his other song Our Fragment <3

@V_the_he

unlike me this song is awsome

@garlicjrmade6409

at first you think it might be a girl singing about a spooky house or being lonely or missing someone, but towards the middle and even in the begging we get clues that maybe she is like a spirit singing from the great beyond. amazing.

I used to listen to this in my first year of college. I cried every time, i still do now.
