24 Hours
Sky Ferreira (WWW.TRACE-SONG5.IR) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The seconds run away, minutes passed
At speeds we can run at
As hours start to fade deep into night
I’m not in the mood for laughing

It’s slipping away
There’s nothing we can do
It’s slipping away
There’s no tomorrow without you

I wish these 24 hours
Would never end
Oh in these 24 hours
Wish the clock had no hand

24 hours
We still have time
For 24 hours
You’re still mine

If this isn't real, just can't deal
In a way you could say I was always a cynic
Hopeful for a while, lost in denial
I wish this could last forever

It’s slipping away
There’s nothing we can do
It’s slipping away
There’s no tomorrow without you

It’s slipping away
There’s nothing we can do
It’s slipping away
There’s no tomorrow without you

I wish these 24 hours
Would never end
Oh in these 24 hours
Wish the clock had no hand

24 hours
We still have time
If 24 hours
You’re still mine
I wish these 24 hours
Would never end

I I
I I
I won’t tell no one
I won’t tell no one
I won’t tell no one
Cause in 24 hours
Cause in 24 hours
You’ll be gone
You’ll be gone
You’ll be gone
In 24 hours

In 24 hours
We still have time
For 24 hours
You’re still mine
I wish these 24 hours
Would never end

I wish these 24 hours
Would never end

Oh in these 24 hours
Wish to forget nothing

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Sky Ferreira's "24 Hours" explore the desire to hold onto a moment in time, as the hours slip away and the night grows deeper. The singer is aware of the passing of time and the inevitability of its end, but wishes that these 24 hours with their lover could last forever. The chorus repeats this sentiment, expressing a longing to stop the clock and hold onto the present moment. The final lines of the song reveal a sense of finality, as the singer acknowledges that their time together will soon come to an end.

The song's lyrics tap into the universal human experience of wanting to hold onto fleeting moments of happiness and the fear of losing them. The idea of time slipping away is a metaphor for the impermanence of life, and the chorus's wish to stop the clock reveals a hope to escape this reality. Overall, the lyrics suggest that even in the face of the inevitability of change and loss, it is worthwhile to embrace the present moment and cherish our connections with others.

She opened for Blondie and Garbage on their Rapture and Rage Tour here in Los Angeles on July 7th ..she opened with this track and set the mood, energy of the entire night..she got people UP and dancing! The party was ON.

Afterwards, she performed a cover of Til Tuesday's 'Voices Carry' that rivals the original,
and left me in awe..good stuff!
One to watch..
