I had never considered using AI chatbots and such to generate NPCs for me. One of the toughest things for me when running homebrew adventures is addressing the question "what's the lieutenant's name?" I don't want to spend time on that in prep, I'm not great at coming up with it on the fly, and if the NPC has no name it's a dead giveaway to players that the NPC is totally unimportant.

Totally agree. I'm not sure how many NPCs named "Bob" I've encountered and run in the past... Of course, there are some great random generators out there as well, such as Donjon. But ChatGPT or Notion are probably just as quick to use at the table, and more flexible.
