Slipknot is well known for its attention-grabbing image, aggressive style of music, and energetic and chaotic live shows. The band rapidly rose to fame following the release of their eponymous debut album in 1999. The 2001 follow-up album, Iowa, although darker in tone, made the band more popular. After a brief hiatus, Slipknot returned in 2004 with Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses, before going on another hiatus and returning in 2008 with its fourth album, All Hope Is Gone, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. After another long hiatus, Slipknot released its fifth studio album, .5: The Gray Chapter, in 2014. Their sixth studio album, We Are Not Your Kind, was released on August 9, 2019. Their seventh studio album, The End, So Far, was released on September 30, 2022. The band has released two live albums titled 9.0: Live and Day of the Gusano: Live in Mexico, a compilation album titled Antennas to Hell, and five live DVDs. The band has sold 30 million records worldwide.

One thing that's amazed me about Corey Taylor for like basically ever is he manages to scream yet you still understand and feel every single word he says.

This was exactly my first impression of Corey as a vocalist upon listening to their first album when it was once upon a time their only album. I was blown away at his ability to scream with the level of power that he does and still clearly enunciate his words. He's not just barking into the mic like a lot of other screaming or growling metal vocalists; rather, he's screaming because he has something to say.

Hes not the only one to do that though, I’ll give Credit due to Corey since he did this in the end of 90s but You have to mention In This moment Maria Brink whos one of the goddess of metal and still does this which even before Slipknot was made, Another example is the new up and coming Poppy whos more alternative then anything but in a lot of her more screaming music like spit or scary mask You can clearly hear what she says even if shes giving her most raw vocals which dare I say as a metal head is even stronger then Corey, its almost as raw as the former lead singer of Arch enemy.
