Slipknot is well known for its attention-grabbing image, aggressive style of music, and energetic and chaotic live shows. The band rapidly rose to fame following the release of their eponymous debut album in 1999. The 2001 follow-up album, Iowa, although darker in tone, made the band more popular. After a brief hiatus, Slipknot returned in 2004 with Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses, before going on another hiatus and returning in 2008 with its fourth album, All Hope Is Gone, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. After another long hiatus, Slipknot released its fifth studio album, .5: The Gray Chapter, in 2014. Their sixth studio album, We Are Not Your Kind, was released on August 9, 2019. Their seventh studio album, The End, So Far, was released on September 30, 2022. The band has released two live albums titled 9.0: Live and Day of the Gusano: Live in Mexico, a compilation album titled Antennas to Hell, and five live DVDs. The band has sold 30 million records worldwide.

Slipknot Lyrics

"She lay as though she were in a trance,
With her long eyelashes fluttering like she was dreaming.
She said to him 'I lie beyond the sea' and then,
All of a sudden her head dipped back and she vanished.
Gone.
She's never coming back,
Do you know what it's like to live with that?
No one knows what it's like.
The only one who knew me, gone."
"I know what you want I can give it to you..."
"I'm so tired... tired and hungry...tired..."
"Have you ever seen heaven?"
The lyrics to Slipknot's song Frail Limb Nursery tell the haunting story of a girl's disappearance and the unbearable grief of her loved ones. The opening line, "What about the boy?" suggests that someone is searching for a missing boy, but the focus quickly shifts to the girl who is lying in a trance-like state. She seems to be communicating with someone about a faraway place beyond the sea. Suddenly, her head dips back and she vanishes, leaving no trace behind.
The chorus of the song is a heart-wrenching depiction of the aftermath of her disappearance. The singer is haunted by her absence and the knowledge that she will never return. He laments that no one else can understand the pain he is going through because the only person who truly knew him is now gone. The song ends with a chilling spoken-word section where a voice offers to give the singer what he wants and asks if he has ever seen heaven.
The lyrics are open to interpretation, but they seem to touch on themes of loss, grief, and the search for meaning in the face of tragedy. The girl's disappearance is a metaphor for death, and the singer's grief is a universal experience that many can relate to. The reference to heaven suggests that the singer is grappling with questions about the afterlife and the possibility of reunion with his loved one.

Her eyes on the channel four
I want to see this place fucking move
One two three now, now, now, now, now
Maze, psychopathic daze, I create this waste
Back away from tangents, on the verge of drastic ways
Can't escape this place, I deny your face
Sweat gets in my eyes, I think I'm slowly dying
Put me in a homemade cellar
Put me in a hole for shelter
Someone by me please, all I see is hate
I can hardly breathe, and I can hardly take it
Hands on my face, overbearing I can't get out
Hands on my face, overbearing I can't
Lost, run at my own cost, fearing laughter, scoffed
Running from the rush, detached from such and such
Bleak all around me, weak, listening, incomplete
I am not a dog, but I'm the one you're dogging
I am in a buried kennel
I have never felt so final
Someone find me please, losing all reserve
I think I'm gonna go crazy
Hands on my face overbearing, I can't get out
Hands on my face overbearing, I can't
You all stare, but you'll never see, something inside me
You all stare, but you'll never see, something inside me
You all stare, but you'll never see, something inside me
You all stare, but you'll never see, there's something in you I despise
Cut me, show me, enter
I am willing and able and never any danger to myself
Knowledge of my pain, knowledge of my pain
Or was my tolerance a phase? Empathy, out of my way
I can't die, I can't die
I can't die, I can't die
You all stare, but you'll never see, something inside me
You all stare, but you'll never see, something inside me
You all stare, but you'll never see, something inside me
You all stare, but you'll never see, there's something in you I despise
Despise, despise
Purity, purity, purity, purity
Purity, purity, purity, purity
Have you ever seen God?
Have you ever seen God?
Have you ever seen God?
Have you ever seen God?
