1. Sloppy Seconds… Read Full Bio ↴There are two bands using the name Sloppy Seconds.
1. Sloppy Seconds are a Punk Rock band from Indianapolis. Their story began in 1985 at a weekend-long house party when singer B.A., bassist Bo'ba Jam, drumĀmer Steve Sloppy, and guitarist Danny Roadkill (later replaced by Ace Hardwhere) set down their beers long enough to massacre a few cover tunes and wake up their neighbors.
After a short spell honing their original material and live intensity, the Sloppys released the debut album "Destroyed" in 1990. With each new release they have carved out a niche that targets themes close to their hearts: porn stars, parties, junk food, TV re-runs, beer blasts, comic books, strippers, B-Movies, 70's nostalgia, 80's cynicism, and 90's complacency.
2. Sloppy Seconds are a pair of non-dimensional time rabbits who strive to disolve notions of time and space through a 'sonic smudge' of intense noise coupled with visceral performance rituals. Named 1.7 and 5.2, these two rabbits deal with ideas of serialisation, subjectivity, shamanism, and quantum ontology, with a focus on creating a conflict and resolution within individual audience members regarding everything they believe to be true. Individual appearences are always different in form, but this simple thread of destroying time and space is present in all of their performances. Actions to date have included the smashing of clocks, the folding of paper, the defacing of maps, etc. Their sound has been compared to the likes of Drums Not Dead-era Liars, Lightning Bolt, Boredoms etc.
Active primarily in London, UK, they released Spit or Swallow? on Colour Ride in late 2008 and have played with Talibam!, Clunes, Horse Vomit, BBBlood, Team Brick, Cementimental, Kong, Selfish Cunt and others.

But you never told me you were
You didn't want to say
Till you were sure
But that song and dance
Won't work no more
Because you got no rhythm
To save your soul
I don't care how much it hurts
So you can tell it
To the Roman Catholic Church
I don't run away
From my mistakes
But this is one, honey,
That I didn't make
And I can't catch you
And I can't get you
But I can't let you catch me
Oh no, you can't catch me
And you never will
So you can plant black roses
In your window sill
I'll be free
And you'll be suicidal
While you press black roses
In your family Bible
So now it's all
Left up to your discretion
And you can spill your guts
In your next confession
Lift your eyes up to the sky
Give 'em ten Hail Marys
For one white lie
Your mother always said
I would bring you down
If she could only see you now
Clinging tight to your rosary
Saying, "This wasn't how
It was supposed to be . . ."
Forget about a snow-white
Wedding gown
And you can toss black roses
In a hole in the ground
Roses are red, roses are black
Tell your mother what you did
And give her a heart attack
Someday when I'm cold and dead
You're gonna find black roses
By your hospital bed
The song āBlack Rosesā by Sloppy Seconds is a rock anthem characterized by a scorned lover who is fed up with his partner's lies and betrayal. The lyrics start off by expressing the singer's annoyance at being stood up, and ends with a warning of karmic retribution for the wrongs committed in the relationship. The singer is adamant in his position, as exemplified in lines such as āBut this is one, honey, That I didn't make.ā The singer is unapologetically blunt about his feelings and reiterates that their partner's insincere apologies are meaningless.
As the song progresses, the singer seems to be enjoying his power over his partner, saying, āAnd you'll be suicidal, while you press black roses in your family Bibleā. This suggests the anger within the singer, who takes pleasure in the fact that the partner is going through suffering without him. The song ends with a warning to the partner, saying that āSomeday when I'm cold and dead, You're gonna find black roses. By your hospital bedā. This leaves the listener wondering what will happen next, with the singer leaving a sense of dread in the last line.

So you were late
You arrived after the agreed time
But you never told me you were
You didn't inform me of your delay
You didn't want to say
You chose not to inform me deliberately
Till you were sure
Until you were certain about something
But that song and dance
The excuses and stories
Won't work no more
Are no longer acceptable
Because you got no rhythm
You have no skill or understanding
To save your soul
To protect or improve your character
I don't care how much it hurts
I am indifferent to your pain
So you can tell it
You can share your story
To the Roman Catholic Church
To the religious institution
I don't run away
I don't avoid the consequences
From my mistakes
From my errors in judgment
But this is one, honey,
But not this time, dear
That I didn't make
That I didn't commit
And I can't catch you
I cannot get a hold of you
And I can't get you
I cannot obtain you
But I can't let you catch me
But I will not allow you to apprehend me
Oh no, you can't catch me
You are unable to capture me
And you never will
And you will never be able to
So you can plant black roses
So you can symbolize evilness
In your window sill
In front of the windowpane
I'll be free
I'll be unrestrained
And you'll be suicidal
And you'll be feeling depressed and hopeless
While you press black roses
While you keep holding onto hopelessness
In your family Bible
In the Holy Book of your family's religion
So now it's all
It's all up to you
Left up to your discretion
Left to your decision
And you can spill your guts
You can confess everything
In your next confession
To the priest during confession
Lift your eyes up to the sky
Look up to the sky
Give 'em ten Hail Marys
Say ten repetitions of the Hail Mary prayer
For one white lie
For one small falsehood
Your mother always said
Your mother warned you
I would bring you down
I would cause your failure
If she could only see you now
If only your mother could witness your current state
Clinging tight to your rosary
Holding onto your rosary beads
Saying, "This wasn't how
Speaking to oneself, "This wasn't my plan
It was supposed to be . . ."
How it should have been"
Forget about a snow-white
Don't think about a pure, immaculate
Wedding gown
Wedding dress
And you can toss black roses
You can dispose of dark, depressing roses
In a hole in the ground
In a burial site
Roses are red, roses are black
Roses have different symbolic meanings
Tell your mother what you did
Confess your wrongdoing to your mother
And give her a heart attack
Worry or shock your mother with your confession
Someday when I'm cold and dead
At a distant future time when I'm no longer alive
You're gonna find black roses
You'll discover dark roses
By your hospital bed
Beside your hospital bed
