1. Sloppy Seconds… Read Full Bio ↴There are two bands using the name Sloppy Seconds.
1. Sloppy Seconds are a Punk Rock band from Indianapolis. Their story began in 1985 at a weekend-long house party when singer B.A., bassist Bo'ba Jam, drummer Steve Sloppy, and guitarist Danny Roadkill (later replaced by Ace Hardwhere) set down their beers long enough to massacre a few cover tunes and wake up their neighbors.
After a short spell honing their original material and live intensity, the Sloppys released the debut album "Destroyed" in 1990. With each new release they have carved out a niche that targets themes close to their hearts: porn stars, parties, junk food, TV re-runs, beer blasts, comic books, strippers, B-Movies, 70's nostalgia, 80's cynicism, and 90's complacency.
2. Sloppy Seconds are a pair of non-dimensional time rabbits who strive to disolve notions of time and space through a 'sonic smudge' of intense noise coupled with visceral performance rituals. Named 1.7 and 5.2, these two rabbits deal with ideas of serialisation, subjectivity, shamanism, and quantum ontology, with a focus on creating a conflict and resolution within individual audience members regarding everything they believe to be true. Individual appearences are always different in form, but this simple thread of destroying time and space is present in all of their performances. Actions to date have included the smashing of clocks, the folding of paper, the defacing of maps, etc. Their sound has been compared to the likes of Drums Not Dead-era Liars, Lightning Bolt, Boredoms etc.
Active primarily in London, UK, they released Spit or Swallow? on Colour Ride in late 2008 and have played with Talibam!, Clunes, Horse Vomit, BBBlood, Team Brick, Cementimental, Kong, Selfish Cunt and others.

A bunch of kewpie dolls
You've seen them in the halls at school
They just wanna dig the rave
I just wanna dig their grave
And plant 'em somewhere near the pool
c'mon, it's time
Everybody knows they deserve it
It's not a crime to kill the trendy
Everybody knows they're full of . . .
They're only on your side
When they can bum a ride
Until you start to slide and slip
They'll all jump overboard
And then they'll cut the cord
And let you go down with the ship
That's why I want
To kill the trendy
Everybody knows they deserve it
It's not a crime to kill the trendy
Everybody knows they're full of . . .
Don't talk to strangers
With pocket pagers
They're just a danger to your brain
Just look at all the fools
Who followed all the rules
And let the world go down the drain
c'mon, it's time
To the kill the trendy
Everybody knows they deserve it
It's not a crime to kill the trendy
Everybody knows they're full of . . .
c'mon, it's time
To the kill the trendy
Everybody knows they deserve it
It's not a crime to kill the trendy
Everybody knows they're full of . . . (KILL THE TRENDY!)
Everybody knows they're full of . . . (KILL THE TRENDY!)
Everybody knows they're full of . . . (KILL THE TRENDY!)
Everybody knows they're full of . . . SHIT!
The song "Let's Kill the Trendy" by Sloppy Seconds is a satirical take on the "trendy" youth culture of the time. The lyrics paint a picture of these "kewpie dolls" mall-goers and rave enthusiasts as shallow and untrustworthy, willing to abandon their friends at the first sign of trouble. The chorus encourages listeners to "kill the trendy," claiming that they deserve it and that it's not a crime to do so.
The verses detail the reasons why the trendy are deserving of such a fate. They only stick around while it's convenient for them, and they follow blindly the latest trends and fads without any thought or consideration. The bridge warns against trusting strangers with technology such as pagers, claiming that they are a danger to one's mental state. The final chorus repeats the call to action, ending with the proclamation that the trendy are "full of shit."
Overall, the song can be seen as a critique of a youth culture that values superficiality and conformity over individuality and genuine relationships.
