I think it's quite ignorant to be obsessed with the speed of light as some unbreakable rule of the world. Think of how many things we as humans take for granted as common technology right now in our that were once commonly held unbreakable rules of the world. Just discussing how we use invisible electricity to send invisible wifi and radio waves to send invisible data in the air to people in parts of the world we've never been to would garner a response similair to "uhhhhm that's now that that works" to someone who's only communicated via horse messanger and carrier pigeon.

Most of us here were completely in disbelief that anything could travel faster than the speed of light before we watched this video, and treated it like some unbreabkle law like the sky is blue or something. Then when we learn that there's exceptions (in this instance it can travel through different mediums at different speeds) and as soon as we learn an exception we still think the original rule always stands true. What I'm trying to say is that I'm seeing some sort of, anti science, obedient style views. Lots of our commonly held laws of physics can be broken and surpassed. We already have an example of something travelling faster than the speed of light here, the fact that it does so through a medium other than air on earth doesn't lessen the fascinating potential of that Fact.

Think of the applications. I'm not a scientist or anything but couldn't we make a very long tube of water and put it next to a very long empty tube and shoot photons through both of them at some kind of array of sensors that pick them up and use that as basic communication, sure there's no clear benefit to reducing the speed of data transfer in communicating but that line of thinking can probably lead to interesting experiments and stuff.

I just disagree with the view that the Speed of Light is some impossible to break rule of physics rule of the world.

So many things we consider unbreakable in the past have been broken today, and there's a proven example right in front of us here in this video. Maybe in following these "laws of physics" as "unbreakable laws" and saying "uhmmm that's not how that works" when someone offers a workaround can lead to people actually using science to become stupider than smarter.

Not you guys, because you learned how the exception worked. But in general the idea of unbreakable laws of physics- we should never think of them as unbreakable when the pattern of breaking unbreakable laws is a corner stone of Human behavior in the way we interact with the scientific world around us. Science shouldn't be Faith based.
