I bet he's proud of his daughter
The way she's looking at me
Here we go
She's down on her knees
She gonna throw away her father
Now she's lying beneath
She said "I only came to give some head"
She making messes in my bed
We're going down in the motel no tell
I guess she really came to give some head
Now the sheets are red
We're going down in the motel
She can barely get it out
Saying "I've never done this,
Can we slow down?"
There she goes
I'll take the blame
'Cause I've never done this
With someone so young
There she goes
She said "I only came to give some head"
She making messes in my bed
We're going down in the motel no tell
I guess she really came to give some head
Now the sheets are red
We're going down in the motel no tell
She's lying through her teeth
I bet he's proud of his daughter
The way she's looking at me
Here we go
She said "I only came to give some head"
She making messes in my bed
We're going down in the motel no tell
I guess she really came to give some head
Now the sheets are red
We're going down in the motel no tell
The lyrics of Smoke & Jackal's song "No Tell" contain a narrative about a sexual encounter with a younger woman, who appears to be lying about her intentions. The lyrics suggest that the woman is much younger than the singer and that her father would be proud of her actions. The song includes lines such as "She can barely get it out" and "I'll take the blame 'cause I've never done this with someone so young," alluding to a significant age difference between the two subjects in the song.
The singer takes charge of the situation by "taking the blame" for the encounter even though the woman is the one initiating the sexual act. The song's overall tone feels somewhat dark and indulgent, as if the singer is caught up in a moment and indulging in something that he knows is wrong. However, the narrative thread of the song feels somewhat ambiguous, making it difficult to know the true intentions of the singer and the woman.
One could interpret the song in a few ways, but at its core, it reads as a story of illicit sexual encounter. It paints a bleak picture of the singer's experiences with someone much younger than him, while at the same time exploring themes of guilt and regret.

He plays the bass guitar.
With all due respect, the only mark Jared Followill leaves is the simplicity of being forgettable.

Four years back, I was so deeply moved by this song I used the lyrics as a description for one of my fb picture. I realised only few months later what the song was all about.
