Smokey Fingers are a Rock/Southern Rock band which officially got together in 2008 in Lodi, Italy; the very first songs, though, were roughly composed back in 2006 during various jam session in which drummer Daniele Vacchini (Smell Of Dog, Gomme Verdi, Stati Limite) and guitarist Diego “Blef” Dragoni (Smell of Dog,Dixie Line,Double Trouble Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute) used to take part. After some changes in the band, Daniele and Diego finally found the perfect fellows for a Southern Rock band: Luca Paterniti and Fabrizio Costa, who also happened to be old friends. Diego and Luca had indeed already played together in the Double Trouble Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute band, whereas Blef had played with Fabrizio in Dixie Line and other bands ever since 1999. Once the members of the band were chosen, they eagerly started composing new songs together, while developing and improving with lyrics and new melodies the songs which dated back to 2006 as well. The evergrowing harmony amongst the members took its shape into a distinctive and identifying sound, while the compositional cooperation between Diego and Luca (authors of most of the songs) grew stronger and stronger, thus turning more self-aware. The band's first release was a self-produced EP (“Smokey Fingers”2009); after several gigs all around the country, Smokey Fingers started recording their first album, with the title “Columbus Way” (under the record label “Tanzan Music”, owned by Mario Percudani - HungryHearth), whose release date is scheduled for 23 September 2011.
NEWS
“Columbus way” is the debut album for Smokey Fingers, a new reality coming from Lodi (Italy). The combo main inspiration is taken from the American southern rock music, merged with blues and country, all mixed, shaken and served in a fresh and innovative version, a new vision, still related to the greatest bands of this genre (Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers above all), but greatly looking at the future, with a sound which is powerful and immediate! “Columbus way” is based on a solid and sincere sound, the true sound of the band as it would have been taken in a live session. This engaging sound is enriched by several takes of slide guitar, dobro and lap guitar and will take the listener to the sunny and dusty roads of Alabama! The album, co-produced by Mario Percudani, has been recorded in the new and ultra modern Tanzan Music Studio. Great attention has been paid in trying to catch the real spirit of the band, a band who has its natural habitat on the stage.
Thunderstorm
Smokey Fingers Lyrics

The lyrics to Smokey Fingers's "Thunderstorm" depict a person riding a motorcycle through a dark, stormy night. The first verse describes silver flames flashing in the sky and wheels of fire rolling down the lane. Despite the wind blowing and rain cutting like a blade, the rider is determined to get away from a ghost town where there is no shelter and no one around to help. The chorus emphasizes the rider's isolation as they roll down to the thunderstorm all alone, just looking for a way to come back home.
The second verse expresses a sense of desperation as the rider feels like time has stood still in this damn place and can only pray for a new day to arrive. The sound of sirens rushing on their trail suggests that they are being pursued and death may be imminent, leading them down to hell. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the sense of isolation and the rider's search for a way back home.
Overall, "Thunderstorm" paints a vivid picture of a person braving the elements and their own demons as they ride through the night. The lyrics convey a sense of fear, determination, and an unyielding desire to find a way home.
