1. Sneaker was a West Coast American rock music band, active from 1973 to 1982. The band is best known for its Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 hit single, "More Than Just the Two of Us", from its first album, Sneaker (1981). They also had a minor hit with "Don't Let Me In", a song written by Donald Fagen & Walter Becker from Steely Dan.
Sneaker was composed of Tim Torrance on guitars, Mitch Crane on vocals and guitars, Michael Carey Schneider on vocals and keyboards, Mike Hughes on drums, Michael Cottage on bass guitar, and Jim King on keyboards, synthesizers, and vibes. The band cited as its primary musical influences Steely Dan, The Eagles, and The Doobie Brothers. They released 2 studio albums on Handshake Records, Sneaker, in 1981 and Loose In The World, in 1982. Both albums were produced by Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. In 2001, Cool Sound Records, a Japanese record label, released Early On, a collection of their early recordings and, in 2003, released Footprints In Japan, a 1982 live recording from Osaka & Tokyo, Japan.
The group's name "Sneaker" was shortened from "Bad Sneakers" taken from the Steely Dan tune "Bad Sneakers" from their "Katy Lied" LP.
2. Sneaker were a Sydney band operating in the early to mid 1990's. They had 2 tracks on the Serum Records compilation, Half-life, which featured other bands from Sydney at the time.
3. Sneaker has been on a mission to reveal the origins of electronic music for about fifteen years now. Whether as a producer, DJ, live act, promoter of the ElektroTekknoKlash-club nights in Jena or as one of the owner of the eponymous label – he’s doing it properly but always after careful consideration. Early on, he fell in love with Detroit and Chicago but furthermore there are the obscure Italo-, New Wave- and Minimal Synth-gems that make his sets special and provide his productions with that certain Sneaker-flavour. If he doesn’t reflect on dance music’s history, the student of fine arts travels extensively or shuttles between his part-time- hometowns Dresden, Jena and Berlin. With the pricky bomb that is You Think You Think! he’s become a member of the Uncanny Valley-family now.
Looking For Someone Like You

As they rock on
The water.
Cold winter wind,
Blowing gently
To sea.
Cross the horizon,
An ocean of sadness,
A picture of me.
Nobody told me that I,
See you with everything
That I do.
I'm looking for someone like you
Hearing her call at the start of
The morning. taking the sun with
The winning of time.
Got to get back
To the girl in the garden
Taking her love to a cloud
In the sky.
Nobody told me that I,
See you with everything
That I do.
I'm looking for someone like you.

In the first half of Looking For Someone Like You, the lyrics describe a scene of ships gracefully swaying on the water as a cold winter wind blows. The singer watches the sunset and feels a sense of sadness, comparing it to an "ocean of sadness" that reflects themself. Then, the chorus kicks in and the singer sings about how no one told them they would see their lost love in everything they do and how they're searching for someone who reminds them of that love.
The second half of the song introduces a new setting, a girl in a garden who the singer wants to return to and take to a cloud in the sky. The lyrics suggest a yearning for a lost or unattainable love that, though never specifically named, is clearly on the singer's mind. Again, the chorus reflects this search for someone who evokes those intense feelings of love.

Another excellent love song something their idols Steely Dan didn’t have which is what sets them apart and these guys hold a very special place in my heart I truly get bummed sometimes when I think about these guys I bet they just don’t get it why they weren’t huge I honestly think they should have been major stars
Sneaker had it all the sound the style the production the hooks the looks several differentl singers excellent songwriting a legendary producer who also played some solos a total mystery to me
@SuperBenblake
Very nice progressive pop/rock AOR band. Great songs and beautiful harmonies on all of them. Call me crazy, but this sounds better than The Eagles even to me! Classic example of how much music has changed- for the worst. You never hear songs like this anymore. I won't listen to hardly any new stuff. I want to start my own band and do things differently. More interesting and more like the classics. We need more real music again!

Problem with bands/artists from this time period that did music that straddled soft rock/adult contemporary in the AOR format was unless you had hit after hit, labels had no clue what to do with you. I can think of a few artists this would apply to.
@IronMan-tk8uc
@German Shepherd Toto was one of them. Very talented musicians who didn't have the look of your average pop-rock superstar, so they compensated in being extremely versatile players.

This and second album are in my "listen often" rotation!
I met Mitch just by chance on a musicians forum. Super nice guy...still a huge fan of this band!!

This track and more than just the two of us; top 5 ballads ever.
