Snoop's debut album, Doggystyle, produced by Dr. Dre and released in 1993 by Death Row Records, debuted at number one on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle became certified 4× platinum in 1994 and spawned several hit singles, including "What's My Name?" and "Gin & Juice". In 1994 Snoop released a soundtrack on Death Row Records for the short film Murder Was the Case, starring himself. His second album, Tha Doggfather (1996), also debuted at number one on both charts, with "Snoop's Upside Ya Head" as the lead single. The album was certified double platinum in 1997.
After leaving Death Row Records, Snoop signed with No Limit Records, where he recorded his next three albums, Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told (1998), No Limit Top Dogg (1999), and Tha Last Meal (2000). Snoop then signed with Priority/Capitol/EMI Records in 2002, where he released Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss. He then signed with Geffen Records in 2004 for his next three albums, R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, and Ego Trippin'. Malice 'n Wonderland (2009), and Doggumentary (2011) were released on Priority. Snoop Dogg has starred in motion pictures and hosted several television shows, including Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, Snoop Dogg's Father Hood, and Dogg After Dark. He also coaches a youth football league and a high school football team. In September 2009 Snoop was hired by EMI as the chairman of reactivated Priority Records.
In 2012, after a trip to Jamaica, Snoop announced a conversion to Rastafarianism and a new alias, Snoop Lion. As Snoop Lion he released a reggae album, Reincarnated, and a documentary film of the same name, about his Jamaican experience, in early 2013. His 13th studio album, Bush, was released in May 2015 and marked a return of the Snoop Dogg name. His 14th solo studio album, Coolaid, was released in July 2016. Snoop has 17 Grammy nominations without a win.
In 2018, he released his first gospel album, Bible of Love.
Kool Moe Dee ranks Snoop at No. 33 in his book There's a God on the Mic, and says he has "an ultra-smooth, laidback delivery" and "flavor-filled melodic rhyming". Peter Shapiro describes Snoop's delivery as a "molasses drawl" and AllMusic notes his "drawled, laconic rhyming" style. Kool Moe Dee refers to Snoop's use of vocabulary, saying he "keeps it real simple...he simplifies it and he's effective in his simplicity".
Snoop is known to freestyle some of his lyrics on the spot for some songs – in the book How to Rap, Lady of Rage says, "Snoop Dogg, when I worked with him earlier in his career, that's how created his stuff... he would freestyle, he wasn't a writer then, he was a freestyler," and The D.O.C. states, "Snoop's [rap] was a one take willy, but his shit was all freestyle. He hadn't written nothing down. He just came in and started busting. The song was "Tha Shiznit"—that was all freestyle. He started busting and when we got to the break, Dre cut the machine off, did the chorus and told Snoop to come back in. He did that throughout the record. That's when Snoop was in the zone then."
Peter Shapiro says that Snoop debuted on "Deep Cover" with a "shockingly original flow – which sounded like a Slick Rick born in South Carolina instead of South London" and adds that he "showed where his style came from by covering Slick Rick's 'La Di Da Di'". Referring to Snoop's flow, Kool Moe Dee calls him "one of the smoothest, funkiest flow-ers in the game". How to Rap also notes that Snoop is known to use syncopation in his flow to give it a laidback quality, as well as 'linking with rhythm' in his compound rhymes, using alliteration, and employing a "sparse" flow with good use of pauses.
Snoop re-popularized the use of -izzle speak, particularly in the pop and hip-hop music industry.
Snoop Dogg is a lifelong fan of professional wrestling. On March 30, 2008, Snoop Dogg appeared at WrestleMania XXIV as a Master of Ceremonies for a tag team match between Maria and Ashley Massaro as they took on Beth Phoenix and Melina. On a March 23, 2015 episode of Raw, Snoop Dogg appeared in a segment with Hulk Hogan and Curtis Axel. At WrestleMania 32, he accompanied his cousin Sasha Banks to the ring for her match, rapping over her theme music. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.
Broadus made a special guest appearance in All Elite Wrestling on the January 6, 2021, episode of AEW Dynamite, titled New Year's Smash. During this appearance, Snoop appeared in the corner of Cody Rhodes during Rhodes's match with Matt Sydal. He later gave Serpentico a Frog Splash, with Rhodes then delivering a three-count.
Snoop Dogg would join The Miz to host both nights of WrestleMania 39. During Night 1, he accompanied Rey Mysterio in a lowrider during his entrance, paying tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero. On Night 2, he introduced Shane McMahon to face The Miz in another spontaneous match. McMahon would sustain a quad injury during the match prompting Snoop Dogg to improvise and finish the match himself, ultimately defeating Miz. Snoop Dogg's improvisational acts were lauded by wrestlers and executives, including WWE chief content officer Triple H.

There's always some big mouth motherfucker hatin'
Always a nigga hatin',
There's always somebody that is displeased with what you do
You can never make motherfuckers happy
There's always somebody unsatisfied that feels entitled
There's always some bitch on the side line talkin' shit with her big mouth
There's always some big mouth-ass nigga talkin' 'bout what you shoulda did with your money
it's just, you understand me?
Big mouth with your big mouth ass!
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
Big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
A big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
There's a rumor being spread about me and my crew
About something we did or supposed to do
You might not have heard or maybe you have
But when I first heard it all I did was laugh
I used to get angry and all uptight
You can say what you want, just spell my name right
'Cause all I'm ever guilty of is rockin' the house
But that's not what the rumor was all about
So if you like to hate tell all your friends
And if you don't, wait until you see me again
This way I can hear it from the horse's mouth
Right then and there, we can straighten it out
Cause I don't get involved with he said, she said
So take my advice and quit while you ahead
Because one day I just might not laugh
I pull up and pop a cap in your ass
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
Big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
A big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
People used to say you got a big mouth
Now I understand what they're talking about
Because what we do is just between me and you
And not something that you ran and tell your crew
But you had to told Sharon and she told Carol
Then the story rolled on just like a wheelbarrow
Carol told Bibi and she told Pam
And Pebbles overheard her talking to her mam
Pebbles told Cookie what she thought she heard
And somehow my nigga Diddy Bop got the word
He told somebody I knew from crew town
They called me up and put me down
Now the whole damn story's been changed around
And that's the reason why I ain't fucking with you now
'Cause you never shoulda open your mouth at all
And I wouldn't have no reason to make this call
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
Big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, big mouth
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
A big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
Big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
A big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
Now you're the dime dropper of the neighborhood
And every time I see you, up to no good
Just like a snake rollin' on the ground
Looking for some new dirt to spread around
Now you're the dime dropper of the neighborhood
And every time I see you, up to no good
Just like a snake rollin' on the ground
Looking for some new dirt to spread around
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
Big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
You got a big mouth (yeah nigga)
A big mouth (you too)
You got a big mouth (I can't forget you)
A big mouth, a big mouth
In the song "Big Mouth" by Snoop Dogg, the lyrics delve into the idea of gossip, haters, and people who constantly criticize and talk negatively about others. The song emphasizes the frustration and annoyance Snoop feels towards these individuals who always seem to have something to say about him and his actions.
The opening lines introduce the theme, highlighting that there is always someone with a big mouth, talking down and hating on others, always finding something to be displeased about. Snoop expresses that no matter what he does, he can never please these people. He also mentions critics who believe they have the right to dictate how he should have managed his money.
The chorus "You got a big mouth" is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the frustration and annoyance towards those who spread rumors. Snoop acknowledges the ridiculousness of these rumors and admits that he used to get angry and uptight, but now he just laughs it off. He advises people to stop spreading rumors and to confront him directly if they have any issues. Snoop warns that if someone continues to spread false rumors, he might resort to taking more serious action.
The second verse delves further into the consequences of gossip and spreading rumors. Snoop reflects on how stories get distorted as they pass from person to person. People listen to what others say and then continue to pass it on, leading to misinformation and misunderstandings. Snoop feels betrayed by those who took his words out of context and spread false information about him. He acknowledges that if they had not opened their mouths to begin with, he would not have had a reason to confront them.
The song concludes with a repetition of the chorus, emphasizing that these people who spread rumors are like dime droppers, constantly looking for new dirt to spread around. Snoop compares them to snakes, sneaking around and causing trouble. The lyrics convey a sense of disappointment and betrayal towards those who engage in gossip and haters, making it clear that Snoop does not want to associate with such individuals.
Overall, "Big Mouth" by Snoop Dogg serves as a commentary on the negativity and hating culture prevalent in society. The lyrics point out the frustration that comes from being constantly judged and criticized, while also highlighting the importance of direct communication and confronting issues instead of relying on gossip and rumors.

I like when tracks are more laid-back and cool like this, it has more authentic gangster effect than yelling and screaming and cussing but as James Brown put it some "gangsters" are just "Talkin' Loud And Sayin' Nothin'."
