Snoop's debut album, Doggystyle, produced by Dr. Dre and released in 1993 by Death Row Records, debuted at number one on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle became certified 4Γ platinum in 1994 and spawned several hit singles, including "What's My Name?" and "Gin & Juice". In 1994 Snoop released a soundtrack on Death Row Records for the short film Murder Was the Case, starring himself. His second album, Tha Doggfather (1996), also debuted at number one on both charts, with "Snoop's Upside Ya Head" as the lead single. The album was certified double platinum in 1997.
After leaving Death Row Records, Snoop signed with No Limit Records, where he recorded his next three albums, Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told (1998), No Limit Top Dogg (1999), and Tha Last Meal (2000). Snoop then signed with Priority/Capitol/EMI Records in 2002, where he released Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss. He then signed with Geffen Records in 2004 for his next three albums, R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, and Ego Trippin'. Malice 'n Wonderland (2009), and Doggumentary (2011) were released on Priority. Snoop Dogg has starred in motion pictures and hosted several television shows, including Doggy Fizzle Televizzle, Snoop Dogg's Father Hood, and Dogg After Dark. He also coaches a youth football league and a high school football team. In September 2009 Snoop was hired by EMI as the chairman of reactivated Priority Records.
In 2012, after a trip to Jamaica, Snoop announced a conversion to Rastafarianism and a new alias, Snoop Lion. As Snoop Lion he released a reggae album, Reincarnated, and a documentary film of the same name, about his Jamaican experience, in early 2013. His 13th studio album, Bush, was released in May 2015 and marked a return of the Snoop Dogg name. His 14th solo studio album, Coolaid, was released in July 2016. Snoop has 17 Grammy nominations without a win.
In 2018, he released his first gospel album, Bible of Love.
Kool Moe Dee ranks Snoop at No. 33 in his book There's a God on the Mic, and says he has "an ultra-smooth, laidback delivery" and "flavor-filled melodic rhyming". Peter Shapiro describes Snoop's delivery as a "molasses drawl" and AllMusic notes his "drawled, laconic rhyming" style. Kool Moe Dee refers to Snoop's use of vocabulary, saying he "keeps it real simple...he simplifies it and he's effective in his simplicity".
Snoop is known to freestyle some of his lyrics on the spot for some songs β in the book How to Rap, Lady of Rage says, "Snoop Dogg, when I worked with him earlier in his career, that's how created his stuff... he would freestyle, he wasn't a writer then, he was a freestyler," and The D.O.C. states, "Snoop's [rap] was a one take willy, but his shit was all freestyle. He hadn't written nothing down. He just came in and started busting. The song was "Tha Shiznit"βthat was all freestyle. He started busting and when we got to the break, Dre cut the machine off, did the chorus and told Snoop to come back in. He did that throughout the record. That's when Snoop was in the zone then."
Peter Shapiro says that Snoop debuted on "Deep Cover" with a "shockingly original flow β which sounded like a Slick Rick born in South Carolina instead of South London" and adds that he "showed where his style came from by covering Slick Rick's 'La Di Da Di'". Referring to Snoop's flow, Kool Moe Dee calls him "one of the smoothest, funkiest flow-ers in the game". How to Rap also notes that Snoop is known to use syncopation in his flow to give it a laidback quality, as well as 'linking with rhythm' in his compound rhymes, using alliteration, and employing a "sparse" flow with good use of pauses.
Snoop re-popularized the use of -izzle speak, particularly in the pop and hip-hop music industry.
Snoop Dogg is a lifelong fan of professional wrestling. On March 30, 2008, Snoop Dogg appeared at WrestleMania XXIV as a Master of Ceremonies for a tag team match between Maria and Ashley Massaro as they took on Beth Phoenix and Melina. On a March 23, 2015 episode of Raw, Snoop Dogg appeared in a segment with Hulk Hogan and Curtis Axel. At WrestleMania 32, he accompanied his cousin Sasha Banks to the ring for her match, rapping over her theme music. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.
Broadus made a special guest appearance in All Elite Wrestling on the January 6, 2021, episode of AEW Dynamite, titled New Year's Smash. During this appearance, Snoop appeared in the corner of Cody Rhodes during Rhodes's match with Matt Sydal. He later gave Serpentico a Frog Splash, with Rhodes then delivering a three-count.
Snoop Dogg would join The Miz to host both nights of WrestleMania 39. During Night 1, he accompanied Rey Mysterio in a lowrider during his entrance, paying tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero. On Night 2, he introduced Shane McMahon to face The Miz in another spontaneous match. McMahon would sustain a quad injury during the match prompting Snoop Dogg to improvise and finish the match himself, ultimately defeating Miz. Snoop Dogg's improvisational acts were lauded by wrestlers and executives, including WWE chief content officer Triple H.

Uh, mm that's funky, oh!
Huh, I'm mr. What-the-fuck-you-lookin-at
I'm mr. Quick-to-run-and-get-the-gat
Treat you like the hoosd like a diplomat
Xzibit used to push a 'llac, now I'm range rovin'
Takin over never sober, bear witness like jehovah
Restless standin tall like a soldier
We thick like the first motorola brick cellular phones
Cut to the bone, celebratin "dre day"
Love it or leave it alone (ha hah)
Just consider me the heir to the throne
The lifestyle of the savage and well known protectin my owns
Rolling stone bringin it home, time for transition
Don't talk too loud, you might find yourself missin
Look into my eyes, all you see is will to survive
By any means, retreatin to the phillipines
To meditate, liftin train like a heavyweight
Hit you and run with a california license plate
When y'all niggas stop actin like bitches
Bitches stop actin like niggas we can all clock figures
Hoes on my dick, niggas on my dick
They all on my dick, fuck that shit!

Hold up, fuck that, you tryin to get swoll up
By the mic controller, clip reloader

Sick like a bowl-of, a bowl of deez nuts
Fuck him up, cross him out, then toss him out
With the stamp on his head, nigga dogghouse
Nigga I'm universal crackin down south (ya heard?)
Poppin my collar with my dick in your girl's mouth, ha ha
You act like you a dude you get smashed on
Full out my bitches with your fucked up attitude
Nappy-head hoes, worse than bitch niggas
I treat 'em all the same, bitch check yo' game!

Bitches stop actin like niggas we can all clock figures
Hoes on my dick, niggas on my dick

When y'all bitches stop actin like niggas
Niggas stop actin like bitches we can all get riches
Hoes on my dick, niggas on my dick
Fuck that shit! We can all get rich!
With the flick of a wrist, send you deep into the abyss
I don't pop cryst', but will pop a nigga with this
Made my way to the top of the list, raised your fifth
Anything to keep it movin make it harder to hit
We survive when you thought we was finished and done
Lookin over my cold shoulder is attila the hun
The gatling gun, guillotine, don king's american dream

Why fight for scraps, relax and take the whole plate witcha

The lyrics of Snoop Dogg's song "D.N.A" touch on themes of power, dominance, and the artist's resilience in the music industry. The opening lines set the tone with a reference to drugs and alcohol, suggesting a hedonistic lifestyle. Snoop Dogg establishes himself as a tough and intimidating figure, quick to resort to violence and treating others with disrespect. He compares himself to Xzibit, another rapper known for his rough persona, and emphasizes his own rise to fame and success.
The lyrics convey a sense of superiority and ruthlessness. Snoop Dogg boasts about his influence and the fall of his enemies, presenting himself as a force to be reckoned with. He likens himself to a soldier and mentions the need for protection. The line about celebrating "Dre Day" refers to Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg's mentor and collaborator, highlighting their shared success.
The second verse criticizes those who act out of line or out of character, using derogatory terms to describe both men and women. Snoop Dogg challenges conventional gender roles and expresses his disdain for people who don't fit traditional expectations. He suggests that if everyone acted according to their assigned gender roles, they could all be successful. However, his derogatory language and objectification of women undermine any positive message that may be inferred from this verse.
The third verse continues Snoop Dogg's self-assured and confident attitude. He asserts his potential for success and implies that his detractors need to recognize his talent and achievements. The lyrics also touch on themes of violence and sexual promiscuity, with Snoop Dogg boasting about his sexual prowess and dominance. The use of derogatory language and crude imagery adds to the aggressive tone of the song.
Overall, "D.N.A" presents a distorted view of power and success, characterized by violence, misogyny, and a disregard for societal norms. While the lyrics reflect Snoop Dogg's provocative and rebellious persona, they should be approached critically and with an understanding of the larger context of his music and image.

@Vanou Sisi and so what? Many people are of mixed heritage with kinky hairβ¦ whatβs your point? Learn how to comprehend statements to avoid making redundant commentsβ¦
In case rephrasing my POV helps with your comprehension (or prevents you from twisting and misinterpreting my words), I would not be surprised if Snoop is indeed mixed race because:
1) American history means many βADOSβ have ancestors of two or more races;
2) Snoopβs mix could include white and / or Native American (in addition to Black, of course); and
3) phenotypically, he could be viewed as black, mixed with Native American and / or white, especially if his hair is not relaxed or treated in anyway.
We all know that indigenous/original people from West Africa (whose ancestors are most likely the same βAfricansβ in βAfrican Americanβ) have kinkier hair than Snoopβs when it is not damaged with relaxers or other treatments used to change its natural state, or when they are not mixedβ¦ even the mixed people with West African heritage can have kinky hair but it is likely to be 3a to 4b rather than our African 4c hair, although there are a few who also have 4c hair like usβ¦
Uncle Snorker
I'm not necessarily saying it's all a plot(though that does explain many things) What I like to say to my brother who hates Alex Jones(I don't blame him) Only he's too Modern Liberal to understand he worships Alex Jones main Conspiracy(I'll-Luminati etc) which is a sound but certainly unproven theory therefore cannot be stated as Fact. I love to say 'Well all of this certainly can be seen as a design from a evil group pushing us this direction, but it just might be that our politicians are actually clueless and we have basically have the Three Stooges running things, And I can't tell you one is actually worse"
He likes to think that the media isn't liberal but doing things on purpose(Never mentioning that every black person shot by police were in fact not complying with the officer in the first place, or that twice as many whites are killed than blacks which is by far the total opposite of what the sheep are taught to believe.) Therefore they cannot be called Liberal, But as I state, if what people identify as liberal, walks and quacks like a liberal, you got to call it Liberal, Have to wait till the smoking gun is found before you deny it because of a conspiracy.
But really its all people believing what they want to believe and they/we all have our boogeyman that we demonize to fuel our ego of being on the better more right side of things.
If you disagree with any of his liberal points, then right away you are getting your news from Faux News and he won't hear it. Never mind that it was my dumb ass that changed his opinion from listening to Rush Limbaugh to that of Liberal back at the end of the Bush era.(Damn do I ever regret that)
But there is no doubt I hate on the bullshit of the right much less than the left today, But thats because I'm righting the ship back to balance. I gave obama till his 2nd term and when he doubled down on all of the hated bush Policies and yet we were still hearing "Blame Bush", I could no longer stand to look at myself when I knew I was a hypocrite if I continued to be silent.
Here are the things we hated bush for and the things we didn't care obama did.
Bush Hate
Mid-East Conflicts
NSA
Mixing Fascism in the Govt(Cheney and his Halliburton connection)
The Patriot Act(Most hated bill of our generation)
Obama Free Pass
Mid-East Conflicts
NSA
Mixing Fascism in the Govt(Appointing the Monsanto Chief to head the FDA)
The Patriot Act(Most people didn't know it was a term bill and/care when Obama signed it not once but twice.
Throw in his disastrous Obamacare("Most Crazy Bill I ever Seen" Bill Clinton) and the complete lies about it, along with the Massive Drone attacks and suppressing the white house press like they are bitching at Trump for doing now) Then add up that he actually ran a campaign stating he was against all these bills and that these bill were Foam at the Mouth Hated by the Left when Bush did them but the same people didn't care when there guy doubled down on them. This is why I love calling Obama Bush in black face, as it says many things and exactly how it should be said too.
I'm glad the system over there doesnt program blacks in your country to be haters of your country like ours. Thats a good thing, Maybe thats why they are flooding in the mid-easterners. Your blacks can't be trained to think a certain way because of a unfair past and therefore they just aren't Hateful enough.
I don't know if conquer and divide is the end game or not(I certainly have strong suspicions about it) But if they are not trying to do so, then as I suggested, It's probably not anymore pathetic than having The Three Stooges as leaders who bungle there way into the same end result of lunacy.
Best of Luck!!!!
