The Snowgoons started in 1999, when longtime hip-hop fans Det and DJ Illegal teamed up in order to make beats together. In 2006, the duo, whose sound is often compared to the Wu-Tang Clan, added Torben and DJ Waxwork to their lineup, and after being signed to New York-based Babygrande Records, the Snowgoons debut album, German Lager, which featured rhymes from MCs like Celph Titled, Sean Price, Jus Allah, Chief Kamachi, MED, Rasco, and Wise Intelligent, among others, hit shelves early the following year.
The Snowgoons have already released 5 albums that feature a veritable who’s who of today’s underground elite! In 2011, Snowgoons collaborated with legendary New York duo M.O.P. to release the album Sparta, as well the album Your Favorite MC, with Philly's own Reef the Lost Cauze.
Throughout the years, the buzz surrounding the Snowgoons has steadily escalated as their gritty, authentic and eclectic beats have gained recognition in both the United States, as well as within the burgeoning European Hip-Hop scene. DJ Illegal & Sicknature also represent the Snowgoons liveshow and are killing stages from Europe to U.S.A. and Canada, with artists like M.O.P., La Coka Nostra, Army of the Pharaohs, Sabac Red, and many others.

"Survival got me bugging but I'm alive"
- Wu Tang Clan 'CREAM'
I just touched Berlin, I'm in so soon
Yeah from LAX i connect with Snowgoons
I call CB up the Porsche is so blue
When I hunted in the streets
Shyster, some are real good but I'm nicer
I'm really from these streets of LA
A live wire the cost of living is murdering
The future of the children
The music for me, I keep giving
Some brothers get shot every day in LA
People getting jacked or crack
Takes 'em away the streets are fucked
Some people's luck just runs out
Bank card fraud take all these funds out
I think I need a drink and
A blunt to get away
Every time I watch the news
Soldiers get blown away
Every time I watch the news
More lives get thrown away
Every time every headline "The
World's a cold place"
"Tax is flying, people dying
Somebody tell everything's fine, ride on"
"Days of my life in LA"
- Defari 'Behold My Life'
"I look at the sunset light and blunt
And say" - Defari 'Behold My Life'
"Tax is flying, people dying
Somebody tell everything's fine, ride on"
"Survival got me buggin' but I'm alive"
I got wise then I opened my eyes
I analyzed that you telling me
Embellish stinkin' lyrical felonies
And I seldom leave typical melodies
Got this gangsta rap on it
You never murk your nigga then flaunt it
It's on par for a chucky
Ruling y'all and big poppa shot ya
Early departure, street gotcha
Pourin' vodka on the Bourbon
Get blocked off
Your name's on the chalkboard
Unsolved murder by drug lords
Concorde call my Chambord
While Snowgoons tours
Before they grounded that
Still while I found you at
The upscale, take a cut of the retail
Pre-sales, money, nigga, weed and females
"Tax is flying, people dying
Somebody tell everything's fine, ride on"

Welcome to the bean where the greens rep
Be fitted with the lean and the mean step
Let them breathe
Stretch and I'll chop the beat techs
Getting chronic from Columbians and T-Neck
So now my team set no time for recess (nope)
It's all about that money and that respect
Never does I be stressed
We fly like cheap sex
Interjects with the vests, about three tecs
What's to eat next
The shoot's a mere reflex
From high up off the rubbles
Those some die hard knuckles
That'll drive up fuckin'
Better rise up fuck it
Don't you know the buries
Where they bury niggas often, it's a coffin
Home of the Larry Bird
Fears where the rest is
Listen, before I'm done I've
Got one suggestion
Take a ride through the Bean, avoid hook shot
And I'mma show ya ass how to mix a good plot

The lyrics of Snowgoons's song "Ride On" convey the harsh realities of urban life, particularly in Los Angeles. The opening lines reference Wu Tang Clan's "CREAM," emphasizing the need to uplift one's mind despite the struggles faced. The first verse begins with the singer arriving in Berlin, connecting with Snowgoons, a renowned hip-hop production team. They mention calling CB (presumably a friend or colleague) and driving a blue Porsche, but the atmosphere quickly shifts to the streets, where the singer shouts "Polizei Fuck you" in defiance of the police. The lyrics depict the violence and chaos of LA, with references to shootings, robberies, and drug addiction. The line "The world's a cold place" encapsulates the harsh reality faced by many individuals.
The chorus reiterates the theme of survival in the midst of chaos and urges listeners to keep going despite the challenges. The second verse, performed by Defari, reflects on the deception and embellishment often found in rap music. Defari criticizes those who glorify violence without truly experiencing it, contrasting their fake personas with the genuine struggles faced by urban communities. The lyrics touch upon themes of murder, drug lords, and the underlying dangers of street life. However, there is also a sense of resilience and determination to rise above the difficult circumstances.
