I Pace Too Much
SoMo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You told me you would call my name
But you changed your mind
Every time you came
You've been walking fast
You've been pacing back to back to back
The lyrics to SoMo's "I Pace Too Much" are about a person being stood up or ghosted by a lover. The opening lyrics, "You told me you would call my name, but you changed your mind," suggest that the person had made plans with their lover, but the lover didn't follow through. The line, "Every time you came," implies that the lover had a pattern of inconsistency, only showing up when it suited them. The chorus, "You've been walking fast, you've been pacing back to back to back," illustrates the anxiousness and frustration the person feels as they wait for their lover to make good on their promises.
