You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You did it 'cause I say you did
You did it 'cause I say you did
I can denounce you just because I can
I didn't have the life I wanted
I didn't do the things I dreamed
I'm filled with a hollowness undaunted
I took revenge to be redeemed
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
I didn't see the stars shine brightly (shine brightly)
So I used my words like a knife (like a knife)
I didn't reach the dizzy heights of success
So I decided I would end your life
I started with a little rumor (rumor)
And then a full-scale, all-out attack
Feels good to have your whole life in my hands
And I'll make sure you never get it back
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
I'll play victim in the spotlight
'Cause I've been too long in the dark
So I'm coming out to get you
I'm gonna blow your whole life apart
'Til now I've let resentment chip away
I drank to numb my bitterness
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
So confess, so confess
I don't need a trial, a judge, or jury
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
It doesn't matter what is true
I'll say the words and condemn you
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty, you're guilty
You're guilty 'cause I say you are
The lyrics to Soft's song "You Are Smart" convey a powerful message about the destructive nature of harbored resentment and the dangerous mindset of holding someone else responsible for one's own dissatisfaction and failures. The repetitive line "You're guilty 'cause I say you are" emphasizes the singer's belief that they have the power to assign blame and condemn the other person based solely on their own subjective judgement.
The song explores the theme of revenge as a means of seeking redemption for one's own unfulfilled desires and dreams. The lines "I didn't have the life I wanted, I didn't do the things I dreamed" and "I took revenge to be redeemed" highlight the singer's underlying bitterness and their desperate attempt to regain a sense of control and satisfaction by destroying someone else's life.
The lyrics also touch upon the manipulation of words and rumors as weapons to inflict harm. By spreading rumors and launching an "all-out attack," the singer feels a twisted sense of empowerment, relishing in the fact that they can control and dismantle the other person's life. The line "Feels good to have your whole life in my hands, And I'll make sure you never get it back" captures the malicious intent behind the singer's actions.
In the latter part of the song, the singer acknowledges their own role in perpetuating their grievances, admitting that they have allowed resentment to corrode their own happiness. However, rather than take responsibility for their own choices and emotions, they continue to assert their power over the other person, demanding a confession and maintaining their belief that the other is guilty simply because they say so.
Overall, "You Are Smart" delves into the destructive consequences of holding onto resentment and seeking revenge, highlighting the need for personal accountability and the dangers of assigning blame without evidence or fair judgment.

Hoooly shit I finally found this band and pretty much everything they've put out is on this level. Their stuff is on Spotify under the name S.O.F.T. Their 2000 album Bonjour Bonshanfarm is especially good and sounds pretty similar to this

Thank you so much for uploading the full soundtrack! This game was so cursed with copyright strike, it was a nightmare to find missing music with decent quality.
I sincerely hope you won't get cursed as well!

This jam is so fucking good I swear but at the same time it feels so painful bc it never fully drops the beat. I was expecting something funkalicious to happen all the time... Like some sick reef, a bassline, vocals, idk. I mean it already has those but it feels in a constant cliffhanger.
@vegetarblessb
It's a straight jam, a pocket of rhythm, nothing more 😎
