Let's pop this pill under the disco ball
Tonight I wanna dance with you and get all the way down
I've been waiting so long
To get to know your body
Now it's kickin in, and I'm singin'
Is it the molly or am I really falling
Is it the molly or am I really falling in love with you
Come a little bit little bit little bit closer
Girl I need your touch
You're a little bit little bit little bit further than I can handle
We can't go to the dance hall
That doesn't stop us no
Want you to grind on me right now
In my living room
Is it the molly or am I really falling
Is it the molly or am I really falling
Is it the molly or am I really falling in love with
You, you, you, you
I don't know if you mean to
But you are killin me
There's nothing like your body
Against my bare skin
The lyrics of Softee's song "Molly" depict a sensual and euphoric experience fueled by the consumption of the drug Molly. The opening lines set the scene in a dimly lit room with music playing, suggesting a party or intimate setting. The singer expresses a desire to dance and connect intimately with someone, emphasizing the anticipation they have felt leading up to this moment. As the drug takes effect, they question whether their attraction and feelings for the other person are genuine or if they are merely a result of being under the influence of Molly.
The chorus repeatedly asks the question, "Is it the molly or am I really falling in love with you?" This line highlights the ambiguity and confusion that can arise when experiencing intense emotions while under the influence of drugs. The singer grapples with discerning between the effects of the drug and their true feelings for the person they are with.
The second verse continues with a request for the other person to come closer and provide their touch. Despite not being able to go to the dance hall, the singer suggests that they can still engage in intimate activities in the living room. The lyrics convey a sense of longing and a desire for physical connection.
The final lines express the singer's overwhelming attraction to the other person, describing the sensation of their body against bare skin. This imagery emphasizes the intense physical connection they feel in the moment.
Overall, "Molly" explores the blurred boundaries between drug-induced emotions and genuine feelings of love and attraction. It delves into the intoxicating and unpredictable nature of these experiences, leaving the listener to question the authenticity of the emotions experienced in such moments.

“Molly was inspired by one of the first dates I had with my fiancé- we took molly and transformed the apartment I was staying in into a dance floor. We cleared the furniture, got speakers and a disco ball, and dressed to the nines. It was one of the best nights of my life and I had to write a song about it. When it came time to film the video, my fiancé (who also directed the video), pitched that we replicate that night. I love that the visuals for this single are a psychedelic version of the actual experience we had.”
