Same Speed
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Better Do something
Hurry up and stop something
I'm not doing the same thing
Heard the words that get you there
I'm so tired I don't care
You heard the words that could get you
Callin' the same speed
The lyrics to Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's song Same Speed seem to be about the frustrations of feeling like time is passing by too quickly, and the pressure to do something meaningful with one's life. The first line, "If we're aging the same speed," highlights the idea that everyone is aging at the same rate, and there's a sense of urgency to use that time wisely. The second line, "Better do something," suggests that there's a need to take action before it's too late. The urgency is further emphasized in the next line, "Hurry up and stop something," which could imply that there's a need to slow down and reassess what's important in life.
The last line of the first stanza, "I'm not doing the same thing," indicates a desire to break away from the norm and pursue something unique or different. This could be a reflection of the band's own experience as indie musicians carving out their own path.
The second stanza seems to suggest a sense of weariness or apathy, with the line "I'm so tired I don't care." This could be interpreted as a fear of burning out or losing motivation in the pursuit of achieving one's goals. The final line, "Callin' the same speed," brings the focus back to the idea of time passing quickly and the need to keep moving forward.
Overall, the lyrics of Same Speed offer a poignant commentary on the pressures of modern life and the desire to make the most of our time on this earth.
