Fearless
SonReal Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Stuck to mine so you know I'm never gun shy
Since I had a backpack full of thumb drives
Shits ironic how I rarely saw the sunshine
That's all I know
At my dads sleeping on a broken mattress
He said if you really want it gotta practice
Cigarettes in the tray full of ashes
That's all I know, know

Everybody got some problems
Ain't nobody ever wanna solve though
Lately I been really trying to talk more
Been haven little trouble with God though
Life come at ya with a rip tide
Hard to be human on the inside
Hard to admit I admit I
Told you I'm okay but

I don't want to wait no more
Leave that for my past
I don't feel no pain no more
Hard times never last
I don't feel the same no more
So you don't need to ask
Why I don't sing the same old songs
Hard times never last

We gon' take it higher (ooh, yeah)
We gon' let this fire burn (ooh, yeah)
One thing I admire (ooh, yeah)
Is someone who's fearless when it hurts (yeah yeah)

Poppin' pills when the camera down who knew (yeah)
Got control but sometimes he go voodoo (word)
'Cause this life'll drive a sane man coo-coo
But don't let go
Everybody need escape from the wild things
Who this whole damn world feel like an island
Now you gone you inspired how I'm rhyming
God rest his soul, soul

Everybody got some problems
We ain't never ask 'til they gone though
Lately I been stuck at the bottom
Feelin' like reaching for the bottle
Life come at ya with a rip tide
Hard to be human on the inside
Hard to admit I admit I
Told you I'm okay but

I don't want to wait no more
Leave that for my past
I don't feel no pain no more
Hard times never last
I don't feel the same no more
So you don't need to ask
Why I don't sing the same old songs
Hard times never last

We gon' take it higher (ooh, yeah)
We gon' let this fire burn (ooh, yeah)
One thing I admire (ooh, yeah)
Is someone who's fearless when it hurts

We gon' take it higher (ooh, yeah)
We gon' let this fire burn (ooh, yeah)
One thing I admire (ooh, yeah)
Is someone who's fearless when it hurts

Fearless is one of the most personal songs off The Aaron LP. I originally wrote the song in my room with my guitar shortly after hearing about the passing of Mac Miller. I felt pain. I wanted to express to people in this song it is okay to go through a lil turmoil in your life it’s how you get out of it. It’s how you be there for people going through those same things. It is a song to help me deal with the losses I’ve had in my own life in optimism to move forward.

@@TheHolehooper ive been a huge fan of his for years - had the honor of meeting him not once but twice when he came to the east coast. The energy in his live performances match the passion he pours into his work and it shows
