Stoner / Doom / Southern / Rock / Groove / Sludge / Blues
Founded in December of 2012
Sonora Ritual arose from the band members of "Up To Ruin" and "Spocaine" when the two bands were playing gigs together. It was in early 2013 when they started writing, rehearsing & mixing some tracks. After about 6 months of hard work the album "Worship The Sun" was born. The entire album was funded by the members themselves. It was all written, rehearsed and mixed entirely at a recording studio that was made at one of the band members home. Pretty impressive!
Sonora Ritual is a band of different influences and styles of heavy music. No overblown adjectives that describe the sound of these guys. It's up to you making your own opinion. Grab a beer and enjoy the ride.

Lonely Road
Sonora Ritual Lyrics

No one really knows where this journey ends
Breathing in the dust of delusion desert
Join me riding through the heat my friend
And all you need is to hold on tight
The will for speed no fear to ride
On this lonely road
Increasing speed cause canyons to fly by
There are millions of stars to be traced
Get prepared to lift off and rise high
One more toke before we're covered in haze
And all you need is to hold on tight
The will for speed no fear to ride
With me
On this lonely road
The opening lyrics to Sonora Ritual's "Lonely Road" set the scene with the singer's physical location, next to a rock by a lizard. However, this specific location isn't necessarily important - rather, it's the isolation and uncertainty of the journey that lies ahead that takes center stage. The singer acknowledges that "no one really knows where this journey ends", adding to the sense of a great unknown ahead of them. As they breathe in the dust of the "delusion desert", they invite a friend to come along for the ride through the heat.
The chorus of "Lonely Road" emphasizes the importance of holding on tight and having "the will for speed" without fear. It's clear that the journey will be intense and possibly dangerous, but the singer is adamant that they must push forward without hesitation. The second verse continues this theme, with the singer describing how their increasing speed allows them to fly past canyons and see "millions of stars to be traced". They take one more toke before plunging into a haze - there's a sense that they're letting go completely and embracing the journey, no matter where it takes them.
Overall, the interpretation of "Lonely Road" is one of a journey into the unknown, where the destination is unclear but the adventure itself is worth the risk. The need for speed and lack of fear is emphasized throughout, creating a sense of intense momentum that carries the listener along with the singer.
