1. A hardcore band from Stockholm, Sweden formed in 2019 .
2. A now defunct pop-rock group formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 2001 by Jill Jackson (lead vocals) and Jim Duguid (drums). They split in 2004.
The band accquired two more members in the shape of bassist Tom Swann from Edinburgh and guitarist Dan Sells, and signed with Innocent Records in 2002, the label home to Blue and Atomic Kitten. The band supported the former on their UK tour in early 2003, and played a number of university gigs as well, and they were noted for playing one song in particular the Christina Aguilera 1999 hit Genie In A Bottle, and as a result, in September 2003, it became their first single as a double-a-side, with another song, Save Yourself and hit #10 in the UK singles chart.
Their second single, Can't Turn Back hit #12 in February 2004, by which point the music industry were citing them as a modern day Pretenders because of their unique pop rock sound which had a feminine touch courtesy of Jill. Their third single, In & Out, hit #33 in June, and their album Save Yourself was released just after Can't Turn Back came out, sadly, it didn't achieve as well as expected. Speedway thus left Innocent Records after their first UK tour.
Jill Jackson is also known for dating Fame Academy Winner Alex Parks and they performed two songs - Don't Let It Get To You, and Stuble - in March 2005, in Bedford

Talk to Me
Speedway Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I don't think I'm in control of it,
I'd do anything to get it back,
But you never listen anyway,
I shoot from the lip, find things to say,
Anything that hurts so you react,
But ooh oh ooh.
Feels like I'm screaming at somebody else,
Oh I wish you'd just hear me out sometimes.
CHORUS
Why don't you ever talk to me,
I'm waiting here impatiently,
I try but I'm against a wall of glass,
My tears that drop like bombs explode,
My words they fall, land nowhere though,
It feels like were going nowhere fast.
I think how could it be so good before,
Is it somethin' about me doesn't fit anymore,
Coz all I see is broken oh!
Take a look at my look at my look at myself,
Feels like I'm screaming at somebody else,
Oh I wish you'd just hear me out sometimes.
CHORUS
Oh we're going nowhere, got no speed at all,
Oh don't you wanna go somewhere, somewhere.
CHORUS (x2)
The lyrics of Speedway's song 'Talk to Me' showcase a person's struggle to communicate with their partner. The singer of the song has difficulty sleeping, and instead of resting, they are kept awake by their overthinking and the inability to express themselves to their partner. They are aware that their partner is not involved in their conversation, and it's becoming a significant roadblock in their relationship. Despite their efforts to communicate, they feel like they are hitting a wall and their words are falling upon deaf ears. In an attempt to stir a reaction or any response from their partner, they express themselves in a way that ends up hurting the other person's feelings.
The person is caught up in their worries and fears about the future of their relationship. They feel like something has broken between them that they are not sure how to fix. The singer feels like they are screaming at somebody else when they take a look at themselves. The singer in the song wishes to be heard and understood by their partner, but they feel like they are stuck and not moving forward. They feel like they are going nowhere fast in their relationship.
Interestingly, Speedway was a British boy band active between 2000 and 2005. The band consists of Robin (Rob) Davies, Andy Brown, Carlos Gibson, and Jack Morlen. 'Talk to Me' was their first single released in the summer of 2003, and it was an immediate hit. The song peaked at number five on the UK charts and was frequently played on British radio stations at the time.

I dream of sleep but you keep me awake,
I want to sleep but you're preventing me from doing so
I don't think I'm in control of it,
I don't have control over the situation
I'd do anything to get it back,
I'd do anything to get back the control
But you never listen anyway,
You never listen to what I'm saying
I shoot from the lip, find things to say,
I say things without thinking to provoke you
Anything that hurts so you react,
I say things to hurt you so that you react
But ooh oh ooh.
But it never works as I planned
Take a look at my look at my look at myself,
Reflecting upon myself
Feels like I'm screaming at somebody else,
I feel like I'm blaming someone else
Oh I wish you'd just hear me out sometimes.
I wish you'd listen to me sometimes
Why don't you ever talk to me,
I'm wondering why we don't communicate
I'm waiting here impatiently,
I'm waiting for you to talk to me
I try but I'm against a wall of glass,
I'm trying to communicate but it's impossible
My tears that drop like bombs explode,
My tears are uncontrollable
My words they fall, land nowhere though,
What I'm saying is not being heard by you
It feels like were going nowhere fast.
Our relationship is not progressing
I think how could it be so good before,
I'm wondering how our relationship was so good before
Is it somethin' about me doesn't fit anymore,
I'm thinking if there's something wrong with me
Coz all I see is broken oh!
Because all I see is a broken relationship
Oh we're going nowhere, got no speed at all,
Our relationship is not moving forward
Oh don't you wanna go somewhere, somewhere.
Don't you want to improve our relationship?
CHORUS
The chorus repeats a few times throughout the song
