We're All Made of Stars
Spray Lyrics

And what do you see
You don't see a millionth of a millionth of a millionth
Of all that will be
A speck of dust
A grain of sand
That's your consciousness and you, you're just an atom
To all intents and purposes
None of us exist
Before we make the slightest impact
We'll be long extinct
We're all made of stars
We're all made of light
You won't make a difference
Try as you might
You're nothing in space
And you don't matter in the end
Whatever you do
How important you feel
A blink of an eye
That is all you'll achieve
You just don't exist
You'll never matter in the end
If you leave tonight
At the speed of light
You'll take a hundred thousand years
To cross the Milky Way
And the Milky Way
Floats out in space
Amidst a hundred seventy billion
Other Milky Ways
I can't ram home how
Insignificant you are
Shout nonstop for the rest of your life
You won't be heard
We're all made of stars
We're all made of light
You won't make a difference
Try as you might
You're nothing in space
And you don't matter in the end
Whatever you do
How important you feel
A blink of an eye
That is all you'll achieve
You just don't exist
You'll never matter in the end
All of human history
In a hundred thousand years
Do you see where I'm coming from?
Is this making sense?
We're all made of stars
We're all made of light
You won't make a difference
Try as you might
You're nothing in space
And you don't matter in the end
Whatever you do
How important you feel
A blink of an eye
That is all you'll achieve
You just don't exist
You'll never matter in the end
Spray's song We're All Made of Stars is a contemplative reflection on the infinite vastness of the universe and humanity's place within it. The song opens by directing the listener's attention to the sky and the realization that what is visible is an infinitesimal fraction of the overall universe. The lyrics then paint a picture of each individual being as a small speck of dust or a grain of sand in the grand scheme of things. The song suggests that, in the face of such enormity, the significance of our individual existence is negligible. Ultimately, Spray's message is one of humility and acceptance of the insignificance of individuals in the broader cosmos.
The lyrics to We're All Made of Stars are an invitation to ponder the mysteries of the universe and the meaning of human existence within it. The song encourages listeners to contemplate their place in the world and emphasizes the importance of humility and perspective in facing life's challenges. Spray's artistic vision is one that recognizes the limits of human understanding while still striving for the beauty and interconnectedness that make life meaningful.

This makes me feel upbeat, inspired, and in the mood to go out and dance, whilst simultaneously depressing me and making me want to crawl back into bed and never leave the house.

Love this. I would agree with the people who say that this makes them feel like they want to go back to bed and hide under the quilt, except for one thing that makes it all better: the universe has muppets!!
