Every month or so, I come back to this freestyle to get a recharge. Lyrically, this is one of (if not the best) pieces of hip hop talent ever recorded. For years, I didn't really rock with that many east coast artists (grew up on Dre, Cube, WC, NWA etc.)...But as I got older I opened my repertoire, and began giving them a chance....a friend of mine introduced this song to me and initially, I was skeptical. I liked a few songs by the Roots, but I didn't think much of them outside of a couple of their songs. After I heard this, I immediately started looking for more Black Thought content.
