If You Wanna
Stan Smith Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Lives a life that isn't necessarily sunny
Likewise the man who works for fame
There's no guarantee that time won't erase his name
The fact is, the only work that really brings enjoyment
Is the kind that is for girl and boy meant
Fall in love and you won't regret it
Holding hands at midnight
'Neath a starry sky
Nice work if you can get it
And you can get it if you try
Strolling with the one girl
Sighing sigh after sigh
Nice work if you can get it
And you can get it if you try
Just imagine someone
Waiting at the cottage door
Where two hearts become one
Who could ask for anything more?
Loving one who loves you
And then taking that vow
It's nice work if you can get it
And if you get it, won't you tell me how?"
Just imagine someone
Waiting at the cottage door
Where two hearts become one
Who could ask for anything more?
Loving one who loves you
And then taking that vow
Nice work if you can get it
And if you get it, won't you tell me how?"
The song 'If You Wanna' by Stan Smith is a perfect embodiment of the idea that happiness cannot be found in money, fame or material possessions. The lyrics emphasize that the only work that brings true enjoyment is falling in love, which is meant for everyone. The song is introspective and encourages the listener to assess their priorities, reminding them that the most valuable experience is finding love, being loved, and committing to that love.
The first verse clearly indicates that life isn't always sunny for those who chase money or fame, as nothing is guaranteed to last forever, and there is always the risk of time erasing their name. The second verse highlights the essence of the song, which is that true happiness and enjoyment are found in falling in love and not regretting it. The chorus emphasizes this message by painting a picture of a couple holding hands under the stars, sighing happily and taking a vow to love each other forever. The lyrics then encourage the listener to imagine themselves in that situation and to strive for that kind of love.
In summary, 'If You Wanna' is a beautiful song that reminds us of what's truly important in life - love. It emphasizes that falling in love and committing to our loved ones is the most gratifying experience we can have.

Even though they're created by the same guy, American Dad is a whole other tone of comedy than Family Guy.
@jay2k965
american dad is just superior

Family Guy is like 1 good one for every 6 or 7 now. American Dad has never really fallen off imo

@J K 100% Family Guy for years has just been rapidly declining in quality. I still watch it but itโs just not that funny anymore, almost all the characters suck, character growth right out the window, and itโs just now cheap entertainment for me.
American Dad while I have my complaints still has amazing characters that stayed MOSTLY consistent. They actually feel like a family and Stan and Francine and feel like a married couple, Steve and Hailey act like siblings, and Jeff and Roger are also really great characters. Iโll even throw Klaus in there. The stories are fun and itโs just superior to Family Guy in every way
