Oh, please, welcome to the love train.
Take a seat
And fasten your seatbelts.
I′m searching for the train,
The train of love,
I'm searching for the train
I′m in a station
But this is a petrol station,
This ain't no rail,
This ain't no rail,
This is a highway.
And I′m lonely,
Yes, I′m lonely, baby.
Have you've seen the rail,
The rail of the golden train,
The rail of the golden train,
The train of love.
And I need a ride,
I need a ride,
I need a ride,
′Cause I'm lonely.
Take me down, take me down,
Take me down, take me down,
Take me down to the station,
Take me down to the train.
Search baby, search.
Search baby, search.
This ain′t no good,
This ain't no rail,
I need a life,
A good life for me and you.
′Cause I'm lonely,
I need a ride,
I need a ride.
'Cause I′m lonely,
So lonely baby,
I need a ride,
I need a ride.
′Cause I'm lonely,
So lonely baby,
I need a ride,
I need a ride,
Take me down,
Take me down, baby,
′Cause I need a ride,
I need a ride,
I need a ride,
I need a ride,
I need a ride.
The lyrics of Standard's song "Love Train" depict the desire for love and the feeling of loneliness. The opening lines of the song address the audience to welcome them to the love train and urging them to fasten their seatbelts, suggesting that love can be a bumpy ride. The singer is searching for the train of love, the one that runs on the golden rail. However, the singer seems to be lost in a petrol station instead of a station for love, expressing his disappointment.
The singer laments on being lonely and longs for a ride that could lead him to the love train. He keeps searching for the rail of the golden train, signaling that he is still hopeful to find his true love. In the final stanza, the singer expresses his frustration for not finding the rail and the need for a good life. The repeated phrases of "take me down" and "search, baby, search" suggest desperation for love and dire search to find it.
