Tiny Dancer
Stefano Langone Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back she just laughs
Piano man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows the tune she hums
But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly slowly
Hold me closer, tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
The song "Tiny Dancer" by Stefano Langone represents a storytelling form of lyrics which introduces the audience to the different characters that the singer encounters. The first stanza talks about a seamstress who works for a band and a woman who is a ballerina. He mentions how these characters came into his life and how the ballerina lives through him. The second stanza talks about a woman who was handing out tickets for God and how she turned back and laughed out loud. The following lines describe a piano man who was performing and a woman who was singing along. The singer then talks about how he feels lying near someone who can understand him and expresses his feelings for her.
The central theme of the song is about the significance of human connections and the value of emotional intimacy. The song portrays the importance of companionship and how it can change an individual's life. The act of holding someone close and the sense of togetherness brings a sense of peace and calmness which is indescribable.
