Story Of A Heart
Steps Lyrics

Just a glimpse of a face in the crowd
That's all it takes
My heart is racing
I stand in a trance
As I stare at the back of a bus
Knowing there's no use denying
The story of a heart
The story all of it mine
Then you took it from me
Every glorious line
I was safe and warm
And now I'm out in the cold
And I know I shouldn't have told my story
Story of a heart
I laid myself open wide
Yet to read the pages
Where the ink hadn't dried
All emotions pent up inside, my story
I try to resist
But the images keep coming through
So many years
Still I'm defenceless
The house by the lake
His hands resting a while on the oars
Speaking with quiet conviction
Carefully unlocking doors
The story of a heart
The story all of it mine
Then you took it from me
Every glorious line
I was safe and warm
And now I'm out in the cold
And I know I shouldn't have told my story
Story of a heart
I laid myself open wide
Yet to read the pages
Where the ink hadn't dried
All emotions pent up inside, my story
Did he see me
Or did I just imagine it all
Putting a face on a stranger
A face I find more and more hard to recall
Never given up
I look for you everywhere
Time went by and sadness took the place of despair
In a way you'll stay with me 'til death do us part
Like a shadow deep in my heart forever
Story of a heart
A story all of it mine
Then you took it from me
Every glorious line
I was safe and warm
And now I'm out in the cold
And I know I shouldn't have told my story
Story of a heart
I laid myself open wide
Yet to read the pages
Where the ink hadn't dried
Swept away and lost in love what was I to do
I just had to read it to you, my story
Story of a heart
A story all of it mine
Then you took it from me
Every glorious line
I was safe and warm
And now I'm out in the cold
And I know I shouldn't have told my story
The song "Story of a Heart" is about a woman who sees a man in a crowd and experiences a sudden rush of emotions. She tries to resist it but the memories keep coming through. She recalls the moments she had with the man and expresses how he had taken away her heart, leaving her in the cold. As she tries to forget him, the memories keep lingering and she cannot forget the story of her heart. She regrets that she shared her story with him, exposing herself to the pain that he has caused her.
The lyrics portray a lot of raw emotions, such as love, heartbreak, and regret. The woman is in a state of confusion, trying to make sense of what happened and why she gave her heart so freely. She is left in the cold, feeling vulnerable and exposed. The song is a powerful reminder of the pain that comes with love.

I must confess, I'm a little late to the Steps party, about 24 years later. Thanks to HUNSNET i've discovered their music and what a joy it is to be a fan. Love their early stuff and i'm getting to know their latest work from the past 5,6 years. Very proud to be a fan and thank you for letting me be part of this amazing fandom. x

Hi Alberto thats quite alright. Better late than never. Glad you have found Steps. Where are you from? And what have been your favorite tracks so far?
@albertoperkins-munoz7025
@@ericleonardiliong688 I got their greatest hits, the singles from the last 3 albums and anything that is a club banger! I’m really into WTFH, SIYE, and heartbreak with Michelle Visage. I love them!

Only Steps, and Take That have managed to remain in the top forty, after they've made a comeback. Other nineties bands, maybe for a little while, but not as much. I would like to see more new stuff from A1, too.
