Steve Lieberman the Gangsta Rabbi is the new York Underground music scene’s favourite oddity. He is a punk-rocker who doesn’t know how to play the guitar so he plays the chords on a distorted bass from hell held upside-down and backwards--and adds flutes, trombones, melodica’s and exotics from all over the world. dismissed in the late 1980’s as someone who will go away soon--thousands of cd sales and a million + downloads--Lieberman survived and will survive long after the ’flavours of the week’ perish into obscurity. VIVA THE GANGSTA RABBI SPREADING THE MESSAGE OF anti-racism and Jewish pride through his music and life Lieberman has released 15 cd’s since 2002-- Bad’lania Rising(2002) Jewish Lightning(2003) Desert Fever Brigade(2003) Liquidatia-455(2004) Arbeiter At The gate(2004) Jewish Riot Oy Oy Oy (Live) (2005) Jew In the Underground(2005) Punkifier(2005) viva The Gangsta Rabbi(Live)(2006) Jewish Pirate (2006) Melancholia Falling(2006) Lieberman is released 2nd charity covers album LAST OF THE JEWISH PIRATES in 2007 to benefit animal charities which are conspicuously ignored my charity pools. Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right
I hope you had the time of your life
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right
I hope you had the time of your life
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right
I hope you had the time of your life
I hope you had the time of your life
The opening verse of Steve Lieberman the Gangsta Rabbi's song "Good Riddance" talks about how life is full of choices and decisions, and sometimes we come to a crossroads where we have to make a choice, and time seems to dictate which path we take. It also advises us to make the best of these situations and not to question it because it is a lesson we can learn from.
The second verse urges us to cherish our memories and the good times we've had. We are advised to capture these moments in photographs and in our minds and to preserve them as physical memories and emotional memories. The line "tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial" reminds us that our memories are unique and evoke emotions that we cherish, just like tattoos are unique to each individual and symbolize something important to them. The chorus repeats the idea that life is unpredictable, but it always ends up leading us where we need to go.
