Steve Porter Lyrics

Each star's a pool of water, cool clear water
But with the dawn I′ll wake and yawn
And carry on to water
Cool, clear water
The shadows sway and seem to say
"Tonight we pray for water
And way up there He'll hear our prayer
And show us where there's water
Cool, clear water
Keep a-movin′, Dan, don′t you listen to him, Dan
He's a devil not a man
And he spreads the burning sand with water
Dan, can you see that big green tree
Where the water′s running free
And it's waiting there for you and me
Cool, clear water
Dan′s feet are sore, he's yearning for
Just one thing more than water
Cool, clear water
Like me, I guess, he′d like to rest
Where there's no quest for water
Cool, clear water
The song "1990" by Steve Porter was released in 2007 and it is a mashup of various samples from different songs that were popular in the 1990s. The lyrics of the song are heavily influenced by the western genre, with references to water being a central theme. The chorus, "Cool, clear water" is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the importance of this precious resource in the desert.
The opening lyrics, "And I'm a fool, each star's a pool of water, cool clear water" suggest that the singer is perhaps lost in the desert and is hallucinating, mistaking stars for pools of water. However, as the dawn breaks, he realizes that it was all a mirage and he has to continue his search for water. The shadows that sway seem to be praying for water and the singer believes that if he prays to God, he will guide them to water which is what they seek.
The lyrics "Keep a-movin', Dan, don't you listen to him, Dan, he's a devil not a man, and he spreads the burning sand with water" suggest that there is someone or something trying to deceive Dan by spreading sand with water. He is urged to keep moving, as the singer believes that there is a big green tree where water runs freely which is waiting for them.
In summary, the lyrics of "1990" by Steve Porter are a unique blend of different songs from the 1990s that mimic western themes with an emphasis on the importance of water in the desert.
