Stitched Up Heart have forged their path in sheer passion and earned their keep in physicality and volume. Both on the road and in the studio, front woman Mixi and the Los Angeles-based quintet face 2016 and their forthcoming Another Century debut with brazen confidence. "Finally Free" is the clarion call for the band's day of reckoning. Recorded by producer Mitch Marlow and captured on video by director Ron Underwood (also known as the high-flying front man for label mates, 9ELECTRIC), "Finally Free" delivers on the promise hinted at on their self-released EP, 'Skeleton Key'. Stitched Up Heart's days of self-booked national van tours and Mixi being a Revolver "Hottest Chicks" mainstay was merely the beginning. Driven by a new level of sonic confidence and topped with the front woman's soaring vocal verve, it's the sound of a band unapologetically coming into its own.
The band's major label debut, the album 'Never Alone' was released on June 17, 2016, and debuted in the Top 10 of both the Billboard Heatseeker and Hard Rock charts.
In 2019 the band released the song "Lost" from their second album 'Darkness'. It features vocals by Sully Erna of Godsmack. It also contains the singles "Darkness" and "Problems".
On September 1, 2023 the band released their third LP 'To The Wolves'. Its lead single is "Possess Me". It also contains the songs ""To The Wolves" (featuring Craig Mabbit from Escape the Fate) and "Immortal". They began a new tour with Escape the Fate, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, Points North, and Garzi a month later.

Stitched Up Heart Lyrics

Can't be your hero (hero)
I'm down a black hole (black hole)
And when the echoes come closing in
What have I become?
(Have I become?)
Fight for something than to live for
Live for nothing
It's a cold world
We make the best of it
What have we become?
(Have we become?)
I'm a warrior
And I known what I'm fighting for
I'm a warrior
(I'm a warrior, I'm a warrior)
'Cause I am, I am a warrior
Woah woah
I am, I am a warrior
(I'm a warrior)
'Cause I am, I am a warrior
Woah woah
I am, I am a warrior
I'm a warrior
(I'm a warrior, I'm a warrior)
Walk through the fire
Do we learn from it?
Make it brighter
Do we burn from it?
We uncover what we're doing here
What have we become?
(Have we become?)
Better to fight for
Fight for something than to live for
Live for nothing
It's a cold world
We make the best of it
What have I become?
(Have I become?)
I'm a warrior
And I known what I'm fighting for
I'm a warrior
(I'm a warrior, I'm a warrior)
'Cause I am, I am a warrior
Woah woah
I am, I am a warrior
(I'm a warrior)
Cause I am, I am a warrior
Woah woah
I am, I am a warrior
I'm a warrior
(Warrior, warrior)
(Warrior, warrior)
I'm a warrior
(Warrior, warrior)
(Warrior, warrior)
If I stand up
If I stand up
Say I had enough
Will I get what I want?
If I stand up
If I stand up
Say I had enough
(Say I had enough)
'Cause I am, I am a warrior
Woah woah
I am, I am a warrior
(I'm a warrior)
Cause I am, I am a warrior
Woah woah
I am, I am a warrior
I'm a warrior
(I'm a warrior, I'm a warrior)
The lyrics of the song "Warrior" by Stitched Up Heart are about being a fighter, fighting for something worth living and thriving for. The song opens with "I'm a warrior, Can't be your hero." It shows that the singer cannot be anybody's hero because they are busy fighting their own battles. The phrase "Black hole" seems to depict the mental state of the singer. They cannot escape this state of mind as they feel trapped and engulfed in it. Even when there are encouraging words like "What have I become? Better to fight for something than to live for nothing," they cannot get out of this dark state of mind.
The lyrics "It's a cold world, we make the best of it" and "walk through the fire, do we learn from it?" indicate that life is difficult and often we must go through rough times to learn and grow from it. We can either continue to live in misery or fight for something worth living for. The chorus of the song clearly shows that the singer is a warrior and knows what they are fighting for. The repetition of the phrase "I am a warrior" indicates that they want to be recognized and praised for their efforts in fighting.
In conclusion, the "Warrior" lyrics express the struggles of dealing with mental illness and the need to fight for something worth living. It tells individuals to be fighters and not surrender to the darkness but instead stand up and fight for something. The song is an anthem that anyone dealing with mental illness can relate to, reminding them that they are strong and warriors.
