Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It could happen in a twinkling of an eye
I am ready to go home
With my Saviour
Doesn't matter if it's morning, noon or night
Are you ready to go home?
With Jesus
Are you ready for your mansion uW in yonder
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord
I am patiently waiting for his coming
And I'll meet him when the mighty trumpet sounds
And I thank God for the day that He saved me
And yes I'm ready for my mansion in the sky
Are you ready to go home?
With Jesus
He is coming back to claim his own Wride
Are you ready for your mansion up in yonder
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord
Yes I'm ready for the coming of the Lord.
The lyrics to Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band's song "Are You Ready?" speak to the Christian belief in the second coming of Jesus Christ. The song expresses a sense of anticipation and readiness for the return of Christ, whenever it may come. The lyrics suggest that the timing of Christ's return is uncertain, but that the singer is prepared and willing to go home with their savior, whenever that moment may arrive.
The chorus of the song poses a series of questions to the listener, asking whether they too are ready for Jesus to return and claim his own. The mention of a mansion in the sky suggests the belief in an afterlife, and the idea that the faithful will be rewarded in heaven for their devotion on earth. The final verse expresses gratitude for the day of the singer's salvation, and asserts their readiness for the coming of the Lord.
Overall, the song conveys a sense of steadfast faith and assurance in the face of the unknown. The lyrics emphasize the importance of being prepared and ready to meet Christ whenever that time may come.
