It's about time for another Canadian high-octane band to set the world on fire. Standing on the shoulders of Canadian giants like Annihilator, Exciter, Cauldron and the best of European and American Speed Metal, STRIKER certainly are one of the finest newcomers from Canada in the last decade.
Formed in 2007 by Ian Sandercock and Dan Cleary, Striker found a consistent lineup in the Summer of 2008 and released their debut EP “Road Warrior” on Iron Kodex Records. The widely praised EP warranted a European tour invitation, which included stops at the renowned “Keep it True” Festival in Germany and the “Pounding Metal” Festival in Madrid Spain in Spring 2010, but unfortunately due to volcanic activity the trip had to be cancelled (See the song Fuck Volcanoes for more details)
With their debut full-length “Eyes in the Night” receiving rave reviews from all over the world , Striker are fully loaded and ready to shred!!

From on top of the throne
It can't always be that way
Why can't we see
That it just isn't right to have so much
When others have so little
Why can't we see
Dreaming of what you want
When others can't even dream
Yesterdays wars
Are still haunting today
The crimes of the past are so far away
We thought that we could change
The future is walking away
We could help but we don't
It's a Goddamn shame
How can one life
Be worth more than another
How can hind sight
Be the only way we can see
You can see it
Written on the faces of the youth today
How can you care if you don't know
A generations worth of apathy
How can one life
Be worth more than another
How can hind sight
Be the only way we can see
The final hour of the iron fist
When nothings left
We'll eat the rich
The lyrics to Striker's song "One Life" delve into themes of inequality, social injustice, and the indifference of society towards the plight of others. The song begins by calling out those who pass judgment from positions of power, suggesting that this cannot always be the norm. The lyrics then question why we fail to recognize the injustice of having so much while others have so little. It highlights the irony of dreaming of personal desires while others can't even afford to dream.
The next verse reflects on the persistence of past conflicts and how they continue to haunt the present. It criticizes humanity for its inability to change and make a difference. Despite having the capability to help others, society often chooses not to, which the lyrics refer to as a "Goddamn shame."
The chorus poses thought-provoking questions about the value attributed to human life. It questions how one life can be deemed more valuable than another and laments the fact that hindsight seems to be the only way to recognize these disparities.
Towards the end, the lyrics highlight the consequences of an oppressive system. The final hour of the iron fist signifies the moment when everything has been taken, leaving only the rich to consume.
Overall, "One Life" serves as a call to recognize and address the social issues of inequality, indifference, and the power imbalance in society.
