Sing Along Song
Stryper Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

In a land of freedom
God has sent His grace
We're proud to live in such a place
With the right to sing
Song after song
This song's for you to sing along!

Whoa-o-o-o whoa ooo La, La
Whoa-o-o-o whoa ooo La, La
Lift your voices higher

We want to hear you sing
Let's lift our voices to the King of King's

Overall Meaning

These lyrics from Stryper's song "Sing-Along Song" celebrate the freedom and grace that God has bestowed upon the land the singer lives in. They express pride in the country's unique privilege of having the right to express oneself freely through singing, and extend an invitation to the listener to join in and sing along. The repetition of "whoa-o-o-o whoa ooo La, La" creates a joyful and uplifting rhythm that encourages listeners to lift their voices higher and join in a chorus of praise to the King of Kings.

Overall, these lyrics convey a sense of gratitude and joy for the ability to express oneself through song, and for living in a country where this freedom is valued and protected. I just found out about Stryper last night!! For the past day now I listened to half of to hell with the devil and the whole entire first and second album, the yellow and black attack and soldiers under command. I really love them, they don't follow sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. God bless everyone!!

@beatleman69

I remember watching their videos from this album on Mtv back then. A friend in high school gave me his copy of this cassette to listen to and I was blown away. I had to give it back to him and bought my own copy. This was in 1987.

@beatleman69

@Living Light Yes I have all their new CDs and even though I have it on CD, I bought Even the Devil Believes on vinyl .

@jarifmanx

I can remember when "In God We Trust" came out and "Always There for You" was #4 on MTVs Top 15. I don't think fans of metal these days realize just how huge Stryper was back in the 80s. The only Christian metal to actually receive heavy rotation on MTV and the radio.

We have Christian metal on you tube but i wish there was a radio station that would play it. There are so many bands out there but they dont get air time. But if you want to get blown away with a metal song that has a Christian message listen to "After forever" by Black Sabbath.

@85vaboy

man i remember this song from when I was a kid and we listened to everything on cassette and watched vhs videos. That was a long time ago.

Over time it just gets better

@kornfreak78

One of my favorite songs by Stryper. Will always like this band. Was rocking out to this in 1986 and still rocking out to this here in 2020! :)

@johnzellner9672

They have gotten better. And heavier.
