Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
Studio 99 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's been a long day
Without my friend
And I'll tell about it
when I see you again
We've come a long way
From where we began
Oh I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
Damn who knew?
All the planes we flew
Good things we've been through
That I'd be standing right here talking to you
'Bout another path
I know we loved to hit the road and laugh
But something told me that it wouldn't last
Had to switch up
Look at things different
See the big picture
Tjose were the days hard work forever pays
Now I see you ina better place
How could we not talk about family
When family's all that we got?

Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now

Overall Meaning

that you're gone
I still carry you with me
You were my brother, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again

The lyrics of "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" by Studio 99 are about loss and remembrance. The singer sings about losing a dear friend and reminiscing about the moments they shared together. The first stanza sets the tone for the song by stating that the singer has had a long day without their friend and that they will tell them all about it when they are reunited. The second stanza describes how the two friends have come a long way from where they started and how they have been through good times and bad. The song then takes on a more melancholy tone as the singer reflects on their friend's passing and how they miss their presence.

The chorus of the song is particularly poignant as the singer talks about how they will always carry their friend with them and how they were more than just friends, they were family. The lyrics "How could we not talk about family / When family's all that we got?" emphasize the importance of the bond between the two friends and how they were there for each other through thick and thin. Overall, the song is a beautiful tribute to a lost friend and a reminder of the importance of cherishing the people we care about.

No band left it all out in the stage every night like Bruce & E. They give you every ounce of blood sweat and tears every concert

@Christian-dn9hw

The setlist this man could produce at the age of 26 is mindblowing. A true genius!

@vincentberte7675

Absolutely

@donkeydump63

As Bruce, himself wrote in the liner notes for the for the CD recording of this show, they had a set list that he "still challenges any young band to match". One could also challenge any any young band or artist to match his presence and charisma while onstage.

@vincenzostr4488

well if he doesn't produce it when he is young I do not expect him to do it later

@zxmoore1

If you've never seen Bruce and the E Street Band live, let me tell you what its like. Its not just a concert, it's a religious experience.

@TheHerrUlf
