Streets
Suad Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Its telling me to let go
Of yours and your stories
They're not for me no longer
I wished I could fit in
To be your friend
And not get burned by your ego
Now we say goodbye
When it washes you over
I can say that I told you so
Though the streets are filled with other people
I don't know
Though there appears to be
A dark and grim black brick road
Oh it's worth the go
Oh it's worth the go
My heart is moving
It 's telling me to let go
Of yours and your stories
They're not good for me no longer
Shadow, oh dear daylight
I see you there the way you are
And it moves me
Oh my it makes me
Now to say goodbye
When it washes you over
I can say that I told you so
Though the streets are filled with other people
I don't know
Though there appears to be
A dark and grim black brick road
Oh it's worth the go
Oh it's worth the go
Oh it's worth the go
Oh it's worth the go
Oh it's worth the go
The lyrics to Suad's song "Streets" convey a message about letting go of someone and their stories, as they are no longer beneficial or relevant to the singer. The heart's movement signifies a desire to move on and release any attachment or emotional baggage from this person. The singer had wanted to fit in and be friends with this person, but their ego and the fear it instills in the singer ultimately lead to goodbye.
The chorus of the song speaks to the singer's realization that despite the presence of other people on the streets, they don't know them. It portrays a sense of loneliness or isolation amidst a crowd. The reference to a "dark and grim black brick road" suggests that the path ahead may not be easy or pleasant, but it is still worth pursuing. It signifies the singer's willingness to face challenges and uncertainties in order to move forward and find their own path.
Overall, the lyrics of "Streets" express the theme of growth, letting go, and the courage to embrace the unknown. It is a reflection on the complexities of relationships, the importance of self-discovery, and the need to prioritize one's own well-being.
