Someone
Suck For Sympathy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Don't you think I'm right this time
You got lost in the end
Now you're standing next in line
Of being more than a friend

Chorus (x2)
Don't you know it?
(...Don't you know it?)
There is someone...just like me!

Complaining bout this lonley nights
Well it's time for a change
There's nothing left but you and me
And some things to rearrange

Chorus (x2)
Don't you know it?
(...Don't you know it?)
There is someone...just like me!

I try to give up
On you
I try to give up
On you

Chorus (x2)
Don't you know it?

(...Don't you know it?)
There is someone...just like me!

Hey Marie, I had a question about family members, "What do you do when a family member brags and remembers more about your sibling's life more than yours?" This has happened to me all my life. Recently I was having Christmas Eve dinner at my brother's apartments house and their were old friends there and my parents were so enthusiastic and were retelling stories from the past and they expected me to remember a story that I wasn't really involved in whatsoever. And also forgot that when my graduation was or who was there. My mom was very standoffish and correcting people and only seeing her perspective.

Dustin, that's hard. And I would say maybe your mom was talking about your brother's past more because you were at his house. But you said this has been going on all your life. I would take your mom aside one day when it is just the two of you and explain how you feel. Because she may not be aware of what she is doing and how damaging it is. That will probably solve the problem, but if it doesn't, concentrate on new memories. Tell her about what you are doing now and how your life is going. Try to include her in your life as much as possible by asking advice, and telling her what's happening. I think parents try to hold on to the past more and more...especially if they feel their kids are slipping away.
