Tim met ex-drummer Ben Davis during a cigarette break at school. Ben (who then played bass) and Tim started to play together on a regular basis until Tim invited Airin Older, a fellow classmate, to join. Ben was moved to the position of drummer and Airin filled in for Ben on bass. Marko DeSantis was added into the band after meeting Tim back stage at a Superdrag concert. The pair apparently met because Tim was wearing a suit that resembled the one Marko wore to the show. Tim asked Marko to join the band before even hearing Marko play a single note on the guitar.
In the Summer of 2004, the critically acclaimed "Vans Warped Tour" featured Sugarcult, who were, in fact, the final band to play at the year's tour.
After the tour, the Band teamed up with Green Day, and New Found Glory on their tour of the US, and were a huge success.
In 2006, The EA Games title "Burnout 3: Takedown" featured the song "Memory" from the Album "Palm Trees and Power Lines" and was an instant success.
After years of touring and recording, Ben was asked to leave the band due to his extensive alcoholism. Ben has said he would rather be sober out of the band than drunk and still in the band. Kenny Livingston was drafted into the band after recording Palm Trees And Power Lines and touring with the band.

i've got your picture on my wall
(it's the one that makes you look like cyndi lauper)
i've got your shoes under my bed
(they're the ones that make you look like a punk rock girl)
i've got your handcuffs on my fridge
(they're the ones that make you look oh so sexy)
when you tease me...
i'm living at home now
there's nothing you can say
i'm 22 years old now
and ruling your world today
'cause it's so easy when you tease me
it's so easy when you please me now
i've got your picture on my wall
(it's the one that makes you look like cyndi lauper)
you've got me waiting by the phone
(you're the one that makes me dial 1-900s)
i've got your love up on my bed
(it's the thing that make you look oh so sexy)
when you tease me
when you tease me
i'm living at home now
there's nothing you won't say
i'm 22 years old now
ruling your world today
'cause it's so easy when you tease me
it's so easy when you please me
it's so easy when you tease me now
she screams
oh oh (oh oh) oh oh ohhhh
she screams
oh oh (oh oh) oh oh ohhhh
she screams
oh oh (oh oh) oh oh ohhhh
she screams
oh oh (oh oh) oh oh ohhhh
i'm living at home now
there's nothing you won't say
i'm 22 years old now
ruling your world today
'cause it's so easy when you tease me
it's so easy when you please me
it's so easy when you tease me now
In "Cyndi Lauper," Sugarcult singer Tim Pagnotta sings about being completely infatuated with a girl and feeling powerless around her. He expresses his love in many ways, including having a picture of her hanging on his wall, keeping her shoes under his bed, and her handcuffs on his fridge. The girl, who looks like the '80s pop icon Cyndi Lauper, teases him and he is living at home now, just waiting for her to call. The song suggests that he's in his early 20s, and the girl holds all the power in their relationship. The chorus repeats a few times that it's easy for her to please him and tease him, completely enamoring him. The song ends with her screaming "oh oh" repeatedly.
The lyrics of "Cyndi Lauper" suggest a song about a power dynamic within a relationship where one person holds all the cards, while the other is completely vulnerable to her whims. Beyond this, the song has a lot of playful humor and nostalgic references that are a bookend to the 1980s. Much of the humor in the song comes from the repeated mentions of Cyndi Lauper, a pop star and fashion icon from the early ‘80s. The handcuffs also suggest a playful reference to punk rock, which was emerging in the era at the time. Overall, the song taps into the anxieties of young men in their 20s who may feel powerless around attractive women.
