Gugur cinta, ke lautan rindu.
Gugur bunga, gugurkan jumawa.
Hayucucur, ssungkawa
Tabikku Rahwana
Taburku melati
Tabikku Rahwana
Tabur cinta mati
The lyrics of Sujiwo Tejo's Prologue evoke images of loss, grief, and longing. The phrase "gugur bulan, gugur ke samudra" can be interpreted as the falling of the moon into the ocean, representing a sense of loss and letting go. "Gugur cinta, ke lautan rindu" similarly describes how love falls into the sea of longing. The line "gugur bunga, gugurkan jumawa" can be understood as flowers falling, perhaps referencing the fragility and fleetingness of life. The refrain "tabikku Rahwana, taburku melati" is a gesture of respect and offering to Rahwana, a character in the Hindu epic Ramayana who is often depicted as a tragic figure. The final line, "tabikku Rahwana, tabur cinta mati" reinforces the theme of loss and death, with love itself being offered as tribute.
Overall, the lyrics of Prologue can be seen as a meditation on the impermanence of life and the inevitability of loss. The use of imagery drawn from nature and myth adds a layer of depth and symbolism to the song's themes. The repetition of the refrain creates a sense of ritual or ceremony, further reinforcing the sense of respect and homage being paid.
