They spent their early years rummaging through their parents old record collection absorbing all the sounds an songs they could. After years of listening, writing and recording, they came up with 'Palace In The Sun'.
Recording for their debut album, began in a small cottage some sixty miles north of London England in the winter of 2008 and was completed in the Spring of 2010 in their Montreal home studio.
Songs lean heavily on imagery, with disarming melodies and moody instrumentation. The album is laden with howling organs, rackety pianos, crackling amplifiers, haunting harmonies, tape hiss, saturated synths, glistening guitars, hurling horns.

Back Again
Sunfields Lyrics

I tried to call but got nothing
Don't try and still my aging heart
Don't try and make me fall apart
I'm tired of being alone
I'm tired of being alone
Goodbye to stars, goodbye to nights
Hello new world you know my name
Take me my friend back again
I'm tired of being alone
Could you just try and phone
It's not your fault my friend
I wish it back again
I wish it back again
In Sunfields's song "Back Again," the lyrics express a sense of longing and vulnerability. The opening lines, "Cold days, warm nights is all I have, I tried to call but got nothing," portray a feeling of emptiness and frustration. The singer is yearning for connection and companionship, as indicated by the lines "I'm tired of being alone." This repetition emphasizes the longing for someone to be there, someone to fill the void.
The lyrics then transition into a farewell to memories, represented by phrases like "Goodbye to stars, goodbye to nights" and "Goodbye to days when the sun was bright." It signifies a departure from a previous state of happiness or contentment. However, the lyrics also introduce the idea of a new world and a hopeful outlook. The line "Hello new world you know my name" suggests a desire for a fresh start.
The repeated plea to "take me my friend back again" shows a longing to return to a previous state of connection and belonging. The lyrics convey a sense of regret, acknowledging that it may not be the friend's fault for the current circumstances but still wishing for things to go back to how they were.
