Missing
Sunset Child feat. Bianca Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Step off the train
I′m walking down your street again
And past your door
But you don't live there anymore

It′s years since you've been there
Now you've disappeared somewhere
Like outer space
You′ve found some better place

And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain
And I miss you
And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain
And I miss you

Could you be dead?
You always were two steps ahead
Of everyone
We′d walk behind while you would run

I look up at your house
And I can almost hear you shout
Down to me
Where I always used to be

And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain
And I miss you
And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain
And I miss you

And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain
And I miss you
And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain
And I miss you
And I miss you
Like the deserts miss the rain
And I miss you
And I miss you

And I miss you
And I miss you

Overall Meaning

"Missing" by Sunset Child feat. Bianca is a song about missing someone who has disappeared from your life. The lyrics suggest that the person being missed has not only physically left but has also disappeared from existence altogether, much like a person who has gone to live in outer space, hence the line "you've disappeared somewhere like outer space, you've found some better place." The singer is left wondering if their loved one is even alive, hence the questioning "Could you be dead? You always were two steps ahead of everyone, we'd walk behind while you would run."

The chorus, "And I miss you, like the deserts miss the rain" is a metaphor for the profoundness of the singer's feelings of loss, as deserts rarely experience rainfall and are often dry, barren and devoid of life. It implies that the singer's life is now bleak and empty without their loved one. The singer expresses a deep longing and yearning for their loved one throughout the song, suggesting that they cannot move on or let go.

Overall, "Missing" is a poignant and emotionally charged song about loss and the inability to move on from that loss. It highlights the depth of human emotions and how love can have such a profound impact on our lives.
