Photographs
Sunset Radio Lyrics

I remember that summer,
It was 1998 and we
Could dream and sleep till it was late,
And then out with our bikes takin' long rides here around our town
Until our feet felt to the ground
And when my mum came out oh,
She was screaming
Cause it was late, and i wasn't at home
So let me just try, let me just find
Let me just smile in front a photograph,
It seems so far away but are past almost two days
Let me just try, let me just find,
Let me just dream about when i was young it makes me feel so sad
Cause i now there's no turning back
And i remember that you said
"One day we're gonna be someone, one day we'll buy our bikes and cars"
And it was true, yeah almost,
Almost for an half

I don't wanna hear, i don't wanna get better
Staring at the sun,
Is coming a bad weather
Is better if we come back home
I turned my back i was alone
So let me just try, let me just find
Let me just smile in front a photograph,
It seems so far away but are past almost two days
Let me just try, let me just find,
Let me just dream about when i was young
It makes me feel so sad
Cause i now there's no tuning back
So let me just try, let me just find
Let me just smile in front a photograph,
It seems so far away but are past almost two days
Let me just try
So let me just try, let me just find
Let me just smile in front a photograph,
It seems so far away but are past almost two days

Let me just try, let me just find,

Let me just dream about when i was young it makes me feel so sad
Cause i now there's no turning back

Overall Meaning

"Photographs" by Sunset Radio is a nostalgic song that reflects on happy memories of the past. The lyrics speak about a summer in 1998 when the singer and their friends would spend their days dreaming and sleeping in, taking long bike rides around their town until their feet ached. However, their fun was cut short when the singer's mother came out screaming, reminding them that it was late, and they weren't at home. The singer then wishes to relive those happy moments through a photograph, but they know that they cannot turn back time and must accept that those days are gone forever.

The second stanza talks about the singer not wanting to hear anything or get better, symbolizing that they are still stuck in the past and unable to move on. Staring at the sun represents hope and happiness, but the impending bad weather suggests that happiness cannot be sustained. The singer realizes that it's time to go back home and faces the fact of being alone, wishing to live in the past again through a photograph. The song's message encourages listeners to cherish moments and memories while they last because time flies and once gone, cannot be recovered.

Thank you for the video sir Jiggie. I've noticed that the shot was under exposed again. I always leave the exposure compensation dial on my camera to 0. Looking at your videos, I'm gonna try to use and play with it. 😁 I will try it myself to know when to do it. :) Thank you very much Sir. :)

Jiggie Alejandrino

It’s fun to do thay

I just subscribed... really enjoy your videos. I’ve tried these sunset shoots and mine make the subject appear to be standing in front of a fake background... I think the CTO gel may be the key to a more realistic image. Thanks for sharing!

Jiggie Alejandrino

Yeah, making the light look as natural as possible is key

A really great video, showing a real shoot where nature has to be handled quickly. So nice to have such a supportive group of models and assistants.
I'm with you all the way regarding gels. I always carry some 1/4 CTO gels with me for situations where there is beautiful warm natural light. I choose 1/4 CTO so that I can use as many as required.

Jiggie Alejandrino

Yeah, matching the color of the existing ambient light is something a lot of photographers tend to forget
