Read Full Bio ↴Superchick consists of: Tricia, Melissa, Matt, Dave, Max and Clayton.
Superchick got their first break opening for Audio Adrenaline in 1999.
In 2000, the band self-released their first album, Karaoke Superstars, which was later re-released once they were signed to Inpop Records. Having had songs appear in Legally Blonde, Cadet Kelly and on several television shows including the Real World and the X-Games, Superchick is one of the most played garage bands.
The band's line-up has changed over the years. In the beginning, there were eight members, including crew. Members credited for Karaoke Superstars were sisters Tricia [lead vocals] and Melissa [guitar, vocals] Brock, brothers Matt [bass] and Ben [drums] Dally, Dave [lead guitar, keys] Ghazarian, Andrew [percussion] Vegas, Dan [lighting, pyro] Larson, and Max [keys, guitar, turntables] Hsu.
With the release of their second album, Last One Picked, the line-up listed Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max with the addition of Justin [lead guitar] Sharbaro and Brian [drums] Fitch. Their remix album, Regeneration, marked the return of Dave, with Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max returning. The release of Beauty from Pain brought with it the band's current incarnation with the addition of Brandon Estelle on drums. Recently, Clayton [drums] Hunt, formerly of Christian rock band Dizmas, joined the group in replacement of Brandon.
After releasing four albums through Inpop, Superchick signed a deal with Columbia Records to re-release "Beauty from Pain" through the larger label.
Bowling Ball

Maybe things'll get better
Maybe it would be nice
If he wouldn't always put you down
Maybe things'll work out
But maybe they'll never..
And I think you give him
The benefit of the doubt
You need that boy like a bowling ball
Dropped on your head
Which means not at all
You have too much to give, to live
To waste your time on him (twice)
Maybe he'll change
If you could be better
But maybe it's not your fault
He's checkin out the waitress now..
But someday you'll change
One day you're stronger
And you will have changed enough
And it's time to get out.
You need that boy like a bowling ball
Dropped on your head
Which means not at all
You have too much to give, to live
To waste your time on him (twice)
You have too much to give, to live,
To waste your time on him.
You need that boy like a bowling ball
Dropped on your head
Which means not at all
You have too much to give, to live
To waste your time on him (twice)
You have to much to give, to live,
To waste your time on him.
In Superchic[k]'s song "Bowling Ball," the lyrics describe a woman who is involved with a man who constantly puts her down and is not treating her well. The song is a message to her, urging her to realize her own worth, and to recognize that staying with this man is not worth it. There is a sense of ambiguity in the lyrics, as the singer acknowledges the possibility that the man could change, but ultimately, encourages the woman to move on.
The chorus of the song, "you need that boy like a bowling ball dropped on your head, which means not at all," is a powerful statement, suggesting that the woman should not waste any more time on this person. The song is ultimately a message of empowerment, encouraging people to recognize their own worth, and to not stay in relationships or situations that are not healthy.
The lyrics of "Bowling Ball" are poignantly relatable to many, and the song's message has resonated with many people. The song has been widely performed and covered, and is considered a classic of the contemporary Christian music genre.

My mom made a CD with a bunch of songs and this was included for my older sister after a bad breakup, so at like 3 am when she would drive me home from somewhere we'd listen to it and id cry. This song will always have a special place in my heart

"Maybe he'll change Maybe things'll get better Maybe it would be nice if (s)he wouldn't always put you down." Works for oppressive and suffocating parents just as well. Hell that's how I use it.

This song reminds me of why I broke up with my ex, especially the part where it talks about him constantly putting her down. I had a bf who put me down a lot, but now I'm single and happy!
@lolnamelollastname9788
Not a boyfriend, but a now-ex-friend.
Went to a friend's bowling party a couple of days ago and we were all commiserating the experiences we'd had with her.
She deliberately chose to be how she is
