Latin Grammy-nominated band Superlitio have been described as one of the best rock acts in Colombia today. The band independently released its fourth album CALIDOSOUND in July 2009, having teamed up with award-winning producer Rafa Sardina. The year saw them headline Rock al Parque, the largest open rock festival in Latin America, while also winning the Recording Of The Year award at the Shock Awards, the most prestigious music awards in Colombia.
Superlitio have also won plaudits for their innovative use of digital, notching up more than 40,000 downloads of their latest album preview with a Colombian newspaper, and more than 150,000 streams on the MSN portal during the launch week.
Band members Pipe, Pete, Alejo, Dino and Armando have come a long way since forming Superlitio more than a decade ago. The band has played more than 500 shows, supporting artists like Juanes, Café Tacuba, Julieta Venegas, Control Machete, Babasónicos, Molotov, Aterciopelados and Manu Chao.
In 2008, Superlitio had their second number one in the Colombian radio airplay chart, with the title track from the movie Perro Come Perro – one of the most critically acclaimed Colombian movies ever. The band also garnered nominations for Best New Artist at the Latin Grammys, as well as Best Rock Album at Univision’s Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, and Best Fusion Video at the Much Music Awards. In the US, they won La Banda Elastica award for Best New Alternative Artist.
Superlitio’s music has also been regularly used on Colombian TV shows, including hugely popular soap opera Francisco el Matematico. The band’s music has also been used in Colombia’s equivalent of The X Factor.
In March 2010, right after their second appearance at SXSW Festival and a short US Tour with shows in NYC, Washington, and Miami, CALIDOSOUND was digitally released on a global scale through The Orchard. Perro Come Perro was choosen as the single of the week in iTunes Latino US and Mexico achieving over 50.000 downloads.
The band is currently touring Colombia promoting their latest single Te Lastime, which have already reached the number one spot in several radio stations around the country.

Cayó El Dragón
Del Cielo Mirando Los Hombres A Dios
Ya Todos Cantando,
Ya Todos Bailando
Y Nos Vamos Volando,
Nos Vamos Pa' Sion
Cayó El Dragón
Del Cielo Mirando Los Hombres A Dios
Ya Todos Cantando,
Ya Todos Bailando
Y Nos Vamos Volando,
Nos Vamos Pa' Sion
I Know You Can Use It, Use It
But Never Abuse It
Don t Try To Confuse It,
Fuse It
Cause You Know I m Right
And Then When I m Leaving Baby
I Think That You re Dreaming
With The Rhythm,
With The Rhythm
I Can See Know That You re Dreaming With The Rhythm
Cayó Babilonia,
Cayó El Dragón
Sentado A La Mesa Bendice El Señor
De Cuerpo Tomando,
Con Vino Brindando
Y Nos Vamos Volando,
Nos Vamos Es Pa' Sion
Cayó Babilonia,
Cayó El Dragón
Del Cielo Mirando Los Hombres A Dios
Ya Todos Cantando,
Ya Todos Bailando
Y Nos Vamos Volando,
Nos Vamos Es Pa' Sion
I Know You Can Use It, Use It
But Never Abuse It
Don t Try To Confuse It,
Fuse It
Cause You Know I m Right
And Then When I m Leaving Baby
I Think That You re Dreaming
With The Rhythm,
With The Rhythm
I Can See Know That You re Dreaming With The Rhythm
Babylon Is Dead, Babylon
Babylon Is Dead
Ay,
Te Lo Dije,
Te Lo Dije
Cuando Me Vine
Hacia Arriba Nunca En Declive
Cuesta Abajo Queda El Carajo
Siempre Listo Y Fino Para Destrozar!
Hacia Arriba Y Nunca Revienta
Como Dicen Tiene Polenta
Como Dicen Saca La Cuzca
Que Vienen Los Litios A Poner A Gozar
Babylon Is Dead, Babylon
Babylon Is Dead.
The lyrics to Superlitio's song "Babylon" paint imagery of the ancient city of Babylon falling and the celebration that follows as people uplift themselves to Zion. The fall of Babylon symbolizes the end of a corrupt and oppressive societal structure, and the rise of a new, spiritual one. The dragon, also referred to as Satan, is also seen as falling, indicating the triumph of good over evil.
The lyrics continue to encourage the listener to use their power and abilities responsibly, without abusing or manipulating them. The idea of "fusing" rather than confusing or exploiting one's talents is emphasized. The repetition of the phrase "I know you can use it, use it, but never abuse it" highlights the importance of using one's abilities for positive change, rather than personal gain.
The song also brings in a religious aspect, referring to God and the act of blessing before sharing a meal. The image of people singing and dancing in celebration of a spiritual shift is reminiscent of the African American gospel tradition.
