Te Quiero
Susana Baca Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
mi amor, mi cómplice y todo
y en la calle codo a codo
somos mucho más que dos
somos mucho más que dos
Tus manos son mi caricia
mis acordes cotidianos
trabajan por la justicia
Si te quiero es porque eres
mi amor, mi cómplice y todo
y en la calle codo a codo
somos mucho más que dos
somos mucho más que dos
Tus ojos son mi conjuro
contra la mala jornada
te quiero por tu mirada
que mira y siembra futuro
Tu boca que es tuya y mía
tu boca no se equivoca
te quiero porque tu boca
sabe gritar rebeldía
Si te quiero es porque eres
mi amor, mi cómplice y todo
y en la calle codo a codo
somos mucho más que dos
somos mucho más que dos
Y por tu rostro sincero
y tu paso vagabundo
y tu llanto por el mundo
porque eres pueblo
te quiero
Y porque amor no es aureola
ni cándida moraleja
y porque somos pareja
que sabe que no está sola
Te quiero en mi paraíso
y es decir que en país
la gente viva feliz
aunque no tenga permiso
Si te quiero es porque eres
mi amor, mi cómplice y todo
Y en la calle codo a codo
somos mucho más que dos
y en la calle codo a codo
somos mucho más quedos
The lyrics to Susana Baca's song "Te Quiero" are a love poem that goes beyond the typical romantic clichés. The song speaks of the deep connection between two people who love each other, not just for physical or emotional reasons, but also for their shared values and beliefs. The opening lines, "Si te quiero porque eres mi amor, mi cómplice y todo" (If I love you, it's because you're my love, my accomplice, and everything) set the tone for the rest of the song.
The song goes on to describe various aspects of the beloved's personality and character that the singer loves. The hands that work for justice, the eyes that see a better future, the mouth that speaks up against oppression, and the sincere face that reflects the struggles of the people. The singer also recognizes that true love is not just about being happy together but also about working towards creating a better world for everyone.
The song ends with the powerful line, "y en la calle codo a codo somos mucho más que dos" (and in the street, arm in arm, we are much more than two), emphasizing the importance of solidarity and collective action in bringing about change.

He escuchado esta canción miles de veces, interpretada por muchos cantantes. En mi opinión es esta la mejor interpretación de estos tiempos! Recita, no corre. Tiene melodía y expresa ese amor auténtico y puro que profesa el poema. Gracias !!
