Nobody Can Save Me Now
Suuns Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Mister, mister can you help a friend?
I′ve been down so down took more than I could stand.
I went down ... by the river bed
But no one came... so I left
My son forget everything I said
Don't go reading between the lines just fucking with your head.
Don′t you know don't you know nothing comes free?
But I felt you and I knew that you loved me.
Uhhhhhh nobody can save me now

Uhhhhhh nobody can save me now
Do do do you want do you want down(?)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Suuns's song "Nobody Can Save Me Now" are about a person who is feeling lost and possibly considering suicide. The first lines, "Mister, mister can you help a friend? I've been down so down took more than I could stand", suggest that the singer is in need of help and feels overwhelmed by their problems. The next lines, "I went down ... by the river bed, But no one came... so I left", indicate that the singer attempted to reach out for help but did not receive any.

The singer then addresses their son, saying "My son forget everything I said, Don't go reading between the lines just fucking with your head", which could suggest that the singer has potentially given their son some confusing or harmful advice in the past. The following line, "Don't you know don't you know nothing comes free?", could be interpreted as a comment on the difficulties of life, and how nothing is ever easy or handed to us for free.

Ultimately, despite all of these struggles, the singer feels a glimmer of hope in the love they feel from someone else, singing "But I felt you and I knew that you loved me". However, the repetition of "nobody can save me now" in the chorus suggests that ultimately, the singer feels that they are beyond help and salvation.
