@Triadii Official Maybe we're talking about different definitions of "melodic"; to me old techno sounds quite melodic, dreamy/trancey... when compared to some of the "modern" variations.

The first trance record I ever purchased. I love it forever and it made me think all trance was meant to be like this. Then the cheese of the late 90s and 2000s happened.

@Evil Robot Santa Claus π π£ π₯ Very funny xD none of them you mentioned made anything 'melodic' to be real, and CJ Bolland? That's obviously techno... no continuous, up and down tune in his work, just beat and kick variations. You can't say the same with this track.

@Triadii Official yeah, suuure, early Luke Slater, Dave Angel, CJ Bolland, Robert Leiner... everyone and everything is trance, np :)))))
Triadii Official
@Evil Robot Santa Claus π π£ π₯ melodic european techno is trance
Graeme Macalister
You are right- this was one of the early trance records. Commentators If you didn't get that in the first minute then I guess you probably think Tiesto is trance = sad. Trance is a state of mind not a style of music.

still perfect to drop @ the right moment in 2021 i hope !!
