SWAG was started in 1993, initially as a project they played around with in their spare time. Junior Boys Own's Terry Farley called them upon hearing the fruits of their studio endeavours and offered to release the first wave of SWAG material. In the meantime Chris's DJ schedule was busy as ever, touring commitments with WARP acts as well as his numerous residencies meant his day job in the record store was becoming increasingly parttime. When the store finally closed in '96, Chris decided it was time to establish his own outlet for the music he was recording.
His labels 'Primitive' and 'Odori' were started and immediately began releasing music from themselves and a host of other like-minded artists who threw out the House rulebook, a policy which helped their releases find their way into the record boxes of the world's bestDJ's. The SWAG project had begun to lose momentum, as their relationship with JBO grew more strained. Two years of running his own labels had given Chris the confidence to start out fresh with SWAG, thistime on another new, self owned label 'Version Music'.
Over the last ten years the SWAG partnership has been behind over fifty original tracks, and manymore remixes, for international artists like Bjork, Herbert and Moloko, as well as definitive work and collaborations for dozen's of underground labels. Their own imprints have built up an international following, making Chris's DJ schedule as hectic as ever, and ensuring their 'Decks And Gadgets'shows have rocked clubs from Tokyo to Madrid and Sydney, not to mention classic UK parties likethe Sub Club, Back to Basics and Fabric.
With two acclaimed LP's under their belts and each new project presenting fresh challenges and room for the duo to push their music even further, the SWAG sound has become an integral part ofthe underground global music scene, and Chris celebrated as one of the world's most valued DJ talents.

jojo world man know what fuck am on
i been a hot nigga
ay its chiraq am hot nigga
nn-nero keep it on them he gonna pop niggas why these niggas fronting you aint hot nigga in this jojo world we do this shit a lot nigga lot nigga and I be on the nine bitch I-I-I got nina on ny line bitch I keep nina
The lyrics to Swag's song "Lone" seem to be about the rapper's experience being a hot and talented artist in Chicago's dangerous South Side area. Swag claims that he's not interested in playing games with anyone and that people from "Jojo World" (possibly referring to a notorious gang in the area) know what he's all about. He asserts that he's been a "hot nigga" and that he's from "Chiraq", a nickname for Chicago which highlights its notoriously high levels of violence and crime.
Swag then mentions someone named NN-Nero who he claims has the power to "pop niggas", indicating that he may be a gang member or have connections to the criminal underworld. He seems to be challenging others who claim to be hot and talented, saying that they don't compare to him in the world of Jojo. The rapper claims that he carries a weapon, referring to a "nina" (likely a slang term for a firearm) and that he's always ready to use it.
Overall, the lyrics paint a picture of a young man who is confident in his abilities as a rapper and perhaps as a gang member. He seems to be trying to establish his credibility and show that he's someone to be respected and feared in his community. The references to violence and weapons add a layer of danger to the lyrics, suggesting that Swag isn't afraid to defend himself or his reputation with force if necessary.
