Legacy
Swit Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Roses in the sun
Falling one by one
Every thorn stung
I was so numb
I almost didn′t see you come.

When the walls around me were caving in
You save my life tonight
When there's nothing left but pouring rain
You save my life tonight.

And I found my heart inside your hands
You save my life tonight
You showed me how to feel again
You save my life tonight.

Hearts on the run
Wasted and young
Every mistake stung
′Til I was numb
I almost didn't see you come.

When the walls around me were caving in
You save my life tonight
When there's nothing left but pouring rain
You save my life tonight.

And I found my heart inside your hands
You save my life tonight

You showed me how to feel again
You save my life tonight.

Overall Meaning

Swit's song "Legacy" portrays a story of a person in a state of emotional numbness and how they found hope and healing through the love of someone special. The opening verse talks about how the person was so consumed by the pain of the thorns that they almost didn't even see their savior, who is compared to roses falling in the sun. The person then proceeds to express their gratitude towards this savior, thanking them for saving their life on a night where they felt like everything was falling apart. The chorus emphasizes the importance of this savior, who not only saved their life but also taught them how to feel again.

The second verse continues the story of the person's emotional journey, describing how their heart was once wasted and young, and every mistake they made stung, leading to them becoming numb. However, they almost didn't see the one who would eventually bring joy back into their life. The chorus repeats the message of gratitude towards this savior, who showed them the way to their heart and taught them how to feel again.

Overall, the lyrics of "Legacy" carry a message of hope and the power of love to conquer emotional pain and helplessness.

Soon I will have a more powerful apprentice.

Standstill is an enchantment so you might as well jam that in there, but then you’re playing Bant so you’re legally obligated to sleeve up Uro, and at that point you might as well dress as Uro.

In the last game you went for the Devoted Druid combo with Ouphe in play but because Swift Reconfiguration turns it into an artifact it wouldn't work anyways. Just something to keep in mind when sideboarding Ouphe.

Op didn’t realise it either ;)

Good catch! Never thought of that angle

One interesting interaction with this deck that didn’t come up in this league is that if you go into forge and put the counters on the devoted druid, it lets you tap it even more times, letting you ramp out a coco without swift recon

quick note for times like at 57:10, swift recon makes the enchanted permanent a artifact, and ouphe/null rod will stop their abilities so you can't infinite with them on board. Also is stopped by an opposing Karn TGC.

See I like the utility of the swift reconfiguration as kind of a removal spell outside of the combo in a way, but I personally feel like not having vizier of remedies in the list was kind of a miss because there were certainly scenarios where if the swift reconfiguration was a vizier of remedies you would have just spiked a win.

I feel like this deck would function better in Modern with Heliod in lieu of Dungeon, is there any particular reason it's a Legacy build, besides Swift Reconfig?
