Long Ago
Sylvan Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

So long ago sonce boisterous lands arose…
Long ago since oceans cast their spray welcome him
Shall it yet be all?

Did he come this far just to deliver us from evil?
Or did he underestimate the challenge to be there?

Overall Meaning

The opening lyrics of Sylvan's song "Long Ago" describe a distant past where great and lively lands once thrived and restless oceans welcomed travelers. The implication is that this time has long since passed, setting the tone for reflections on the transience of existence. The lines "Shall it yet be all?" evoke a sense of uncertainty about the future, as if wondering if there will ever be a return to those vibrant lands and welcoming waters.

The second stanza poses a more existential question about the purpose of human existence. Did a higher power or force lead us to where we are now, as if guiding us away from evil, or did we underestimate the struggles of life and the challenges the world presented? The lyrics suggest that there may be no clear answer to this question, as it reflects the ambiguity that often accompanies the search for meaning in life.

The funny part about this is that sylvans as whole were designed to be generic plant support to some degree, so it just saying plants is actually perfectly in theme

Mega Strix

Well that explains a lot about sylvans.

Yep... "Sylvan" is NO WHERE in her effect text. ʘ‿ʘ (edit: Except in the effect restriction itself.)

Gonna love playing her in 60 card Plant JANK.
